    First Humira doses today!

Hi Rose, glad it all went well for you. My 13 year old daughter is on Humira, she has fortnightly injections that she does herself. The injection has never stung and doesn't bother my daughter at all. She has been on humira for 14 months now. She has no side effects what so ever and more or...

Do you take more than humira?

Hi tots my 13 year old daughter is on fortnightly Humira injections and nothing else. She had a course of steroids on diagnosis and then started on Azathioprine but had a reaction to it so the consultant took her off that. She was meant to be on Azathioprine as well as Humira injections but is...

    Cold-like symptoms with Humira

Yes she has coughs quite often but don't really last that long. Maybe your wife's body has just got to get used to the Humira. Other than cold and cough symptoms when the Humira is due my daughter is doing amazing on humira, she has no other side effects of any kind. I think it's a wonder drug.

    Cold-like symptoms with Humira

My 13 Yr old daughter is on Humira and has been for just over a year now. Sometimes a few days leading up to when the Humira is due (fortnightly) my daughter has cold like symptoms, sore throat, blocked nose, etc. Seems to dissappear when she has had the Humira. Strange really as it's not every...

    The Worried Mum's/Dad's/Carer's Club!

Hi Jo-mom sorry to read things are tough at the moment. I am afraid I can't give much advice being a newish diagnosed mum too. I do know that I react in the same way when my daughter has any kind of niggle crohns related or not. I think these hiccups are something we will need to get used to...

I'm New From The UK I Have Child With crohns

That makes a lot of sense. I guess at early teen stage it is vital to get the kids treated with the right treatment to enable them to hit puberty. My daughter although doing great at 13 she still hasn't hit puberty. Well I say that but what I mean is she has not yet developed and is quite...

Hi Jo-mom thank you. I feel the warmth of the group support already. I also have a great support group in the UK which is a children's charity for children with IBD. I wanted to join the group as the support does seem pretty solid.

I'm New From The UK I Have Child With crohns

Adding a little humour to my post when my daughter was first diagnosed I think I drove her crazy with the daily questions. Have you been the toilet? What was your poo like? Was there blood in it? Do you have an appitie? Oh my poor daughter. I am so much better now and only ask her every...

Thank you lovely welcome yet again, you all sound like great people. I totally agree with you it is so good to hear success stories. When my daughter was first diagnosed I scared myself silly with the stories that I read. I had got it into my head that that is how things will be for my...

I'm New From The UK I Have Child With crohns

It amazes me how all our children are put on different treatments. I still wonder how the consultants know which treatment plan they suggest for each child.

Thank you so much. That's so good to hear your daughter is doing well. Has she had many problems along the way? I am coping so much better than I was at first. I do find I have days where it is constantly on my mind. I soon pull myself together and refuse to let the disease take over our...
