So tell me more about strictures.

I too suspect I have a stricture (still not entirely sure what they are, I just know they cause obstructions) and your experience sounds identical to mine. I never really had what I could describe as severe pain before and then suddenly I was doubled over with it. Also, like yourself, one...

    Western Bowel Syndrome.

Not sure about the worms, but I have read up a lot on the squatting and I am interested in getting myself a squatting stool. Diagrams I've seen show that in the sitting position, the bowel is obstructed and you're more likely to strain and not fully empty them. According to one blogger, lifting...

Finally got my appointment! Called my GP again to tell him I hadn't heard anything, so he gave them a call and they 'squeezed me in'...not like it could be anything serious or anything! I think it's pretty disgusting that someone with my symptoms is left almost 4 months without seeing anybody...

Yeah I mean today, I had a bout of pain which sent me to bed and that general feeling of an unhappy gut. This pain I can manage though, unlike the pain I felt a couple of weeks ago - that was touch and go, I'm surprised I decided to wait it out instead of going to A&E like most people here...

Rosanna! So glad to see you're back and finally getting some answers and treatment. :) - Just wanted to put a question out there that I've wanted to ask for a while. My GP (haven't even seen a GI yet) has said he thinks I have either crohn's or UC, but can't be sure without further testing...

No problem! :) I still haven't received an appointment yet. Haven't even seen a GI at all since going to my GP in May. Could I ask my GP for the ensure or would it have to be a specialist? I've heard they can be reluctant to prescribe it. I am eating, but it's all very basic foods. Noodles...

I actually have a brand new juicer, but I don't use it for the simple fact it takes FOREVER to clean afterwards. Plus, you need tons of produce and have to wash it all and prepare it - too much effort, especially for me with no energy whatsoever. So I think I'd be better on a powdered based...

Cat, we do have them, but they're usually loaded with dairy and don't have many options. It's either slim fast or the store brand. I do however have a vegan protein shake that I never used in the cupboard - perhaps that could help? Apparently it contains lots of vitamins and even probiotics...

Any tips on getting nutrients into your body? I'm now 140lbs and look like a ghost. I just feel like I'm lacking vitamins. I already take iron and B12, but maybe I need a multivitamin. If anybody takes one daily, could you recommend me a brand? Lewis :)

    What we wish they knew!

'Are you allowed to eat that?' 'You just need to stop eating junk.' - MY DAD Annoys me SO much. I eat depending on how I feel. So just because today I'm not eating ____ doesn't mean tomorrow I won't eat ____. And yesterday a family friend got talking to us and we got onto the topic of me...

This is kinda gross, but we're all used to it here! I think I managed to get what was causing my pain to move along. Last night I had one of the most full-formed BMs I've ever had and I feel like that was the obstruction causing my pain. Wonder if I have some kind of narrowing or stricture that...

Yeah and healthy is something I'm not right now, so I need to stop seeing this weight loss as a positive. Once I get in remission (if should I say) I really can't wait to start a fitness and clean eating regime and live a more positive lifestyle. I hope I can help people here too because up to...

@Cat - Yeah I definitely think he mentioned Asacol and Azathioprine. He's italian so sometimes I just nod even though I'm not entirely sure what he's talking about... After some thought I've realised I just have to get better and forget everything else. Once I get the current inflammation down...

I know me too, I'm happy, but really scared to face the reality of it all too! He pretty much told me everything you said - that if I start vomiting, develop a fever etc. that I should get myself to A&E or call 111 (think it's a non-emergency, but they can get you admitted without having to sit...

Oh dear, this is my third post in a row. If this is against the rules, please do tell me off! But here's an update on my doctors appointment. He asked why I hadn't seen a GI yet and he got pretty angry that the referral hadn't been acknowledged as he put it down as urgent. Then we went through...

Sorry to double post, but I need a quick rant. Have a doctors appt at 3:00 and I am in absolute agony. Crippled over and salivating due to nausea. I truly think I'm compacted because I'm only passing very tiny bits at a time OR there's a blockage due to a narrowing of some kind. I can't go on...

gotumtum, it's nice to hear from someone that has had such positive results back. Though it must be frustrating not to know what is causing your symptoms. I hope my bowel is monster free! When you say you hope it's not celiac, why is that? Over having IBD I mean. My doctor said this too after...

Thanks, I hope so too. I REALLY don't want to go on steroids though. Do you have an option on that front? Could I choose a liquid diet as an alternative treatment? That's if it is IBD.

Thank you Cat & Star! Just hearing kind words makes me feel a whole lot better. I spend most days feeling crappy alone because my parents are working. So I don't really get to complain to anybody other than you guys, so I appreciate the support! Feeling much better today. Although, I've been...

Feeling much better now, thanks :) At the start of the day it was so difficult to pick myself up. I had no sleep because all my stomach did was growl and was making these weird dribbling sounds, like a tap that's been left on a little. Then there was the pain. I managed to get myself in a nice...
