HELP - Newly Diagnosed with Crohns

Hi, and welcome. So sorry you have Crohn's -- and nausea! Love my ginger for nausea; I keep it in my purse at all times. One thing that might help if Imuran is the source of your nausea is splitting your dose -- half in the morning and half at night. Take good care!

How many mg's of imuran do "you" take?

175 mg. Instructed to take 200 mg as I was getting fistulas on 150 mg, but that dose caused terrible confusion and memory problems (looked like low-level dementia, super fun for a 32 year old), so 175 mg it is. I get fewer colds and flus because I am so much healthier than I had been in the...

Letter of complaint to the hospital

Nooo! You poor thing! I caught Norwalk once (caterer who worked while ill) and it's nasty. Hang in there, whether it's Norovirus or something else.

    Hot sauce...

Yes Cat you are correct but I hate bland! I'll just have 1/8 the amount of sauce in future. It was gooood. Soooo goood. I can't cheat and have a carrot or a bran muffin by strict orders from GI, but hot sauce won't cause blockages, just an evening of discomfort. A change from bland was SO...

    Hot sauce...

...is not Crohn's friendly, at least not today. Noted. :shifty:

Hi Cyclonenat: Fingers crossed that what you have is figured out! Hope it isn't IBD, but if it is we'll be here to support you.

Diagnosed, Not new to forum, But would like your opinions

Hiya: My GI is super laid back like your guy. Reported numbness and tingling in extremities -- he paused for half a second and then continued with his discussion about my large/small intestine (the only body parts he cares about). No bloodwork to check for vitamin levels, anemia, etc. (but...

Has anyone ever run a marathon?

Hurray for you! You might want to check out the Couch to 5k program (see: Google). :) I've never run a marathon but I have completed more than one half (multiple if you include non-sanctioned events, lol) and I consider that one of my biggest accomplishments. Am back down to barely eeking out...

How much fish do you eat

I eat fish usually twice per week (one tilapia meal and one salmon meal), and seafood fairly regularly, too. Love lobster rolls most of all, and also snow crab legs!

    GI visit--more test..

Hi: I now have this procedure instead of regular colonoscopy due to a birth defect (my colon is "loopy and floppy" - i.e., a regular colonoscopy is incredibly difficult and carries a high risk of peforating the colon). I have had it once to date (and yes, the added bonus of being able to...

Am with Dies on this one, although I screamed silently due to sleeping relatives. No, no, no!!! So wrong.

    Bowel Prep Club

Oh Cat. I need tub toys. Now. The wind-up kind. I already have a rubber duckie collection (the sheepdog duck is my favourite. Don't ask). This is fabulous. My 2 cents: a cup (preferably not see-through) with a lid and a hole and a straw. Don't expect to use this cup ever again for anything but...
