    Which blood tests?

Thanks for the reply. Doctor said blood tests a good idea although he didn't know what I'm feeling so tired after bowel movements. He kept talking about how crohns affects people and I had to tell him I haven't been diagnosed yet! I've also got 5 days worth of steroids to take! No answers just...

    Which blood tests?

Thanks for your reply. If you don't mind me asking what level was your faecal calprotectin? Mine was 319 last time I had it done (3 weeks ago). I will ask about my B12 level. My Gastro doc thinks that as well as ulcers and inflammation shown on the pillcam are nothing to worry about and may not...

    Which blood tests?

Thanks for the reply. To be honest I don't know! The bloods were taken whilst I was in hospital after my colonoscopy went wrong and no-one told me any results! Colonoscopy was clear though!

    Which blood tests?

Hi. Got a GP appointment on Thursday. Pillcam and Calprotectin both showing inflammation. Are there specific blood tests I should ask for to rule in/out Crohns? I've got many of the symptoms apart from diarrhoea so trying to find out what is going on!! I haven't had any blood tests for over a year.

    Strange symptoms

Sorry, Scottsma I hope you don't think I was coming across as rude as I wasn't meant to be! I've never had diarrhoea but have right side abdo pain and fatigue and joint stiffness. I don't have an IBD nurse and my gastro doc said I'd get a letter for another appointment. I am going to see my GP...

    Strange symptoms

I don't know what steroids I'm on yet as the prescription is being faxed to my GP. I will let you know Are you saying that what I have could 'just' be inflammation and nothing else and if the steroids make me feel better that will be the end of it? I thought that once it is there it is always...

    Strange symptoms

My gastro doc won't diagnose anything. Not IBS or IBD. As the pill cam and my calprotectin levels both show inflammation my gastro doc has prescribed steroids to reduce the inflammation. It's all very confusing. I do feel like I'm in a flare at the moment as it does come and go but without a...

2 years and not diagnosed yet.....

I'm in a similar situation. Had symptoms for almost 2 years. Had many negative tests but pill cam showed ulcers and inflammation. Fecal Calprotectin test also quite high. They do seem reluctant to diagnose anything but unsure why. You're not alone!

    Strange symptoms

Hi. When I've had a bowel movement I get really bad stomach pains and I feel absolutely drained. Last week I had to put my head on my desk at work! I'm starting steroids this week. My doctor reluctant to diagnose me with anything. Does anyone else have this type of symptom? Thanks for your help.

    Symptoms but undiagnosed. Advice needed

This is the gastroenterologist that has been saying all this to me. I've got a GPs appointment on Thursday to tell them things have flared up again but will probably be told to come back in a few weeks if things haven't changed as that's what they normally seem to say! I know it sounds odd but...

    Symptoms but undiagnosed. Advice needed

Thanks for the replies. When I speak to my doc. she seems to think that it's mild, that my calprotectin is only 'slightly' high and that the fatigue and heaviness are probably nothing to with it. She said she will see me again during the course of steroids but it is just so frustrating! I still...

    Symptoms but undiagnosed. Advice needed

First post so be gentle with me! I've had abdominal pains for almost 2 years. Went down ibs route. Colonoscopy was clear although I ended up in hospital bleeding. My calprotectin levels have risen every time I have one. The latest was 317 which I know is not particularly high. I had a pill cam...
