Thanks Crabby I love learning new things about IBD.
I guess I need a B12 test. I wonder if they can just add it to the 10 blood draws they are doing this month?
Hi Margie,
I don't have thyroid problems officially, but my doctor keeps checking my levels because of all the symptoms. I am sorry you are going through this. I may be wrong but can't hypothyroidism be kept in check with fairly simple meds? I guess that is the upside to it.
I hope you start...
@ Sandy I wonder if I say the right things as well. The way I look at it is we both are just trying to give some of our experience to help others so it can't be wrong. It's what we have lived through. No alternative motives and just generally caring about others who suffer. I don't know that it...
I think a house keeper is a GREAT idea. I would have one if my husband wasn't so reclusive!
I do understand why he is working so much, it makes sense to try to get to a long lasting job with advancement. Just makes life harder while he does it.
My hubby did similar things during y2k putting in...
It is possible that b12 is causing the tiredness. It is also possible that you are tired and cranky cause you feel like crap and are in pain. Its also possible depression is rearing its ugly head.
b12 is digested in the small bowel ( I am not positive where I don't have small bowel issues I am...
I love the "you know you have Crohn's when" thread! Just curious have they done a repeat colonscopy on you to see if any damage from inflammation is going on?
I do have an issue with the theory. They have said that one of the kings from early England had Crohns. So eh. I used to eat fruit right from the garden all the time as a kid, so I am sure I got LOTS of dirt and whatnot.
I remember when this was a new study and mentioning it to my GI. He flat...
That sounds like a great idea. Focus on yourself and your family. That was one of the hardest things I had to learn with managing my illness is I can only do so much. Finding out how much that is and not doing more is the hard part!
Take care of yourself try not to let the little things bring...
Just so you know, opiate withdrawal peaks at 3 days usually. Then gets better. When I decided to pull myself off vicodin it put me in a flare up. Expect lots of D just from the WD. RLS is bad. nasty stuff. I know I didnt sleep for 3 days when I did it. I also got tachycardia, vomiting, shaking...
Wow. I am shocked. He claimed to do 22 surgeries on a saturday but did not want to do a colonoscopy on you? Gah
I suppose the best thing is now you know. You can get better care without wondering.
Hope you are doing OK.
I understand what you are going through. I wish I had answer for you. I am 12 years into this and usually wind up in a flare in Dec and January. It's hard. I know I am weak when it comes to diet. I will not drink more than 1 drink anymore though. So maybe it will come to where you only eat the...
LOL yeah its the South, but I think FL will be the first one in Dixie! My son is 12 and he better not know a guy! But my cousin who lives here is 20 and I bed she knows a guy!
Honestly, thats not the part I would be worried about. If my GI docs said I didn't need something that cleaned me out like that, even tho he had the HUGE BOTTLE sitting there and gave me a different prep. I would be worried about when it came out.
Erm, considering where I would have to get it how do I ask for an Indica strain?
I actually used to smoke quite a bit as a teenager (yes I feel quite old saying that) I certainly don't remember feeling the way I did with this stuff. I might just have to move to California I think!
Oh I am sorry. Its the same as golytely in the US. I have heard that is a terrible terrible prep. You might want to call your GI and ask if you can do a Miralax prep instead.
My G.I.s have always told me with crohn's I didn't need that to clean out my bowels. Wish I had something better to say.
It sounds like you have a pretty clear idea of how to stay on your diet and manage Crohn's. I really can't do beans so I think that ends my idea of going back to veg.
I will say, once you get into a full remission you may be able to eat the ethnic foods you like so much. Maybe not, but you...
