    Hi I'm new here :)

Hey there, welcome to the forums and hopefully you learn something new year. I'm sure you will. Best of luck!

    Just dropping by...

Hey there I was on Asacol for two years and didn't work a bit (didn't realize it could have been better than I had it) and then proceeded with Imuran. Imuran worked wonders for me immediately until a stress related flare-up stopped the Imuran from being effective at all. Asacol is an...

    Sick of relationships

Really sorry to hear that. I too am 20 (we drink up here already) and it does get difficult. My girlfriend of 4 years has been great to me but a large majority of my friends not so much. They just don't understand, they don't understand how I can just 'be sick' all the time and I'm always asked...

    Diet - food to avoid

Greasy foods for me not always fatty but if it turns greasy then it turns real bad. I too am in the no nuts or seeds club although I still do now and then. My big, big issue is with anything deep fried. I am more or less in remission right now but still anything deep fried can send me running...

    ENTOCORT/BUDESONIDE advice anyone??

Tried it over the summer last year. We tried it instead of Pred as a tie over until I could start Remicade which was being held up forever with insurance issues. Anyway I didn't have any side effects at all from it....just never had any effects either haha.

    Should we try Remicade

Completely agree with this. Was told by doctors early last year at 18 they wanted to start Remicade and my mom freaked at the side effects. Was an easy time convincing her it would be alright as when nothing else worked I had basiclly two choices: Sit at home on a toliet and continue to lose...

    Humira

I'm on its close relative drug Remicade and it is working wonders for me so far. Started back in October 2010 and so far I've gained close to 30 lbs and back to a healthy weight for the first time in a long long time. Try out Mike's links there and best of luck! Welcome to the forums.

My 8 year old son has Crohn's

I'm terribly sorry to hear about your son. I can't be much help with LDN but looks like some good links have been provided for you up top. I can tell you I was on Imuran for a while that worked wonders for me as a 18 year old male and Imuran is in the same family of drugs as 6-mp so it may be...

I don't know what to think of all of this? Do I have Crohn's Disease?

Try to stay as calm as you can which I know right now seems like a rediculous statement to make. Stress is my big trigger for starting up my symptoms and making me really sick and I know for many others stress isn't to kind to their symptoms either thus the rationale behind the first statement...

    The fight for my life

Hey there welcome to forums and I'm very sorry for all the misdiagnosis. With that attitude around Crohn's I'm sure you'll do just fine with it.

I am losing weight my weight is down to 128

Hope all is okay there, sorry to hear that about the weight loss and pains. Weight loss has been my big issue too for a long time. I've never really been able to put on weight since I was about 12 (8 years ago now) so I think Crohn's started well back into childhood but didn't really get bad...

    Does Imuran work

I am still on it with Remicade. I was on Imuran alone for about 4 months but after some extremely stressful events, which seem to be my major trigger, Imuran alone wasn't working and thats when I was switched. It did work wonders for me in the begining though.

I'm Giving the Forums Another Go...

I have my next infusion booked for June 9th and then seeing my doctor after that and its one of our topics for discussion at that appointment about going down to every 7 weeks possibly. Thanks for all the welcomes by the way, nice to be back.

    Diagnosed last week...

Hey there welcome to the forums. I'll likely echo a lot of what Molechaser has to say here. As he said Prednisone is generally only used in shorter stints or during big flare ups as a way of getting things under control in a hurry. This can be a common place for some doctors to start off with...

    I NEED to help.

Hey there. Well I guess I can somewhat relate here but instead in reverse roles. I was diagnosed in grade 10 (which to my understanding is a sophomore) and now approaching 4 years later I am still with my girlfriend I was with before diagnoses. My girlfriend was faced with many of the same...

    Wisdom teeth out!

Glad it went well. Had all 4 of mine out a couple years ago and I was put under so I didn't have to feel all the needles and pass out on my own. Went well except after I acted like a baffoon when coming out of my haze.

My husband and I are dreaming of remission

Well I am on Remicade and when that desicion was being made I was given the choice between Remicade and Humira as apparently they are very similar drugs just varrying slightly in way it is produce and administered. As I am scared to death of needles still.... I was chose Remicade. I've heard a...

What test should I be having to monitor my chrons

Yeah I too advise getting blood work done as often as possible. I am suppose to be going every two weeks but as I am deathly afraid of needles my doctor lets me go once a month now. They know me quite well at the blood work clinic now.

This made me laugh out loud litterally.

Humerous, Bad, Thoughtless ,or Unbelievable Comments

Few years back when I graduated I had my principal tell me (and then my mom) they were going to teach me a lesson on responsibility by not allowing me to go on my grad cruise. Why might you ask? Well because I had arranged with the Cruise organizing commitee to drive down myself as my class...
