    Stelara/Ustekinumab Positive Experiences?

Not recently, but I'm getting bloodwork tomorrow when I get my next Stelara shot. I'll be sure to tell them my symptoms.

Ha, yeah, same. I'm no spring chicken anymore either :)

    Stelara/Ustekinumab Positive Experiences?

Hi there! I've been on Stelara since March of this year (so it's been a little over 3 months at this point). I have to say, it's done a good job with my Crohn's symptoms. I had been on Entyvio for a year and a half prior to that (and Humira 9 years ago, but I had side effects). Entyvio didn't...

Severe Crohn's bleed but no cause found

Thank you so much. Side effects are scary, but the disease is scarier. Hope your son is doing well. It's a tough disease to deal with, and it sounds like he's been dealing with it since he was just a little guy :(

Severe Crohn's bleed but no cause found

But yes, bottom line, it's probably high time for me now to explore the biologic/TNF inhibitor route. I can't have a bleed like that again. Thanks so much for bumping this discussion and for your input/insights

Severe Crohn's bleed but no cause found

Not a bad idea at all to get more eyes on it, for sure. I've been on Pentasa as maintenance for probably 10 years or more at this point, so maybe my disease being relatively under control during that time is more coincidental than anything. My doctor has often spoken of other meds to treat...

Also, no capsule endoscopy at this point although he mentioned he might do one soon

Severe Crohn's bleed but no cause found

Hey MLP! Not sure why they didn't do a colonoscopy, maybe because I'd had an all clear so recently? I don't know. I'm on Penatasa, 2.5 grams per day as maintenance, and I'm also now on 40 mg per day of Prednisone to get the inflammation rapidly under control. Thanks!

Severe Crohn's bleed but no cause found

Hi all - so last week, I woke up in the middle of the night and felt the urge to go to the bathroom. Okay, well, nothing new there. But it was just straight blood when I went. I've had some bleeding with BMs before (Crohn's Disease, diagnosed a little over 20 years ago in 1998/99). But this was...

    Humira and peripheral neuropathy

Yeah, that's how it was with me. Great for the Crohn's, but with bad side effects. How is LDN? I can't find a doctor to prescribe it for me, even though I found a pharmacy on my own that will do the compounding.

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Also, found this link. I've found everything on this list of foods to avoid to be true. http://www.justapinch.com/groups/discuss/65228/10-foods-to-avoid-if-you-have-crohns-disease

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Hard to say. For me, when I'm flaring, there's a lot of bloating and mild pain. I think it's different for everyone, though

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Totally agree with that. For me, it's moderation. When I eat too much sugar, yeah, more bathroom trips. I can drink alcohol and coffee in moderation, but if I push my luck, I pay for it with pain later. You'll start to figure out what works for you and what doesn't. Hang in there, I know it...

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Yeah, the "why me" can be hard to deal with sometimes, but I always tell myself that it could be a lot worse. Hell, a lot of our fellow sufferers on this website have a real struggle. I just try to live my life and manage things as best I can. As for future treatments, I'm always cautiously...

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Glad to hear that the cardiologist isn't too concerned! I'm 39, and I was initially diagnosed when I was 20. So, on and off, I've had this for half of my life. As for tapering, I did a taper, albeit an accelerated one. 9 mg one week, 6 mg the next, and then the last week was 3 mg before I...

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Absolutely, I hear you for sure! High five to you too! I've actually gone on largely a low-residue diet since the fall of 2013, when I had a partial blockage as part of a terrible flare-up. I stuck to this plan, for the most part, with some exceptions from time to time (Drinking a little...

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

The side effects definitely diminished once I dropped down, I think my previous post definitely showed that I was pretty alarmed by how I felt on 9 mg. Once I stopped completely, the symptoms went away as well. I take four pills, four times a day.

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Hi! Yeah, it definitely helped. Right now, I'm only taking Pentasa, which is a pretty mild/inert drug. So far, so good. If/when I relapse, I'll probably have to switch to something stronger. I'd definitely try Entocort again if I could. Hell, I would take it non-stop if I could, that's how well...

    Entocort Dependent (Help)

Hey there! I'm sorry you're having those issues :( I stopped mine entirely and the issues went away, so I think that's a good sign in the sense that it was ONLY a side effect and not a sign of anything else happening with me, long-term.
