Crohn's Disease & Parcopresis (The Inability To Defecate With People Around)

Embarrassment is the main problem, K. Also, time. I definitely can't do a "quick poo". Even when I've "finished", it still feels like I need to go. That comes with having Crohn's, and I don't think that will ever go away. So I feel the need to sit on the toilet for ages, and take my time to...

Crohn's Disease & Parcopresis (The Inability To Defecate With People Around)

Parcopresis is a horrible thing to have on top of Crohn's. I admire your honesty, though, Rebecca. More people need to talk about this.

Crohn's Disease & Parcopresis (The Inability To Defecate With People Around)

Thanks. I feel for you. It's a nightmare having to think about where the next toilet's going to be when you leave the house with the probability that you may not be able to go. I hate that feeling. Any other information on the subject from other people will be greatly appreciated. I may write...

Crohn's Disease & Parcopresis (The Inability To Defecate With People Around)

There's definitely a psychological element to it, I think. With the house empty, I can go anywhere up to twenty times a day. When it's occupied, the urge to "go" most times isn't there, and that's where the horrid stomach cramps start. It's worrying. More research needs to be done.

Crohn's Disease & Parcopresis (The Inability To Defecate With People Around)

Hi, guys, I wrote this article over the last couple of days. Please take a look and let me know your thoughts, if you can. "Parcopresis, or "Shy Bowel", as it is commonly known as, is a physical/mental disorder that permits an individual from defecating in toilets that aren't their own and/or...

My Book About My Experiences With Crohn's Has Been Published! (PaperbacK)

In The Innocence of Not Wanting to Live or Die, I talk about my experiences with Crohn's Disease in and out of hospital over the last four years. Some of it was very difficult to write about, but I'm very proud that I can say my book got completed, edited and eventually published. There's a...

    Crohn's Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/Other Forms of IBD Questionnaire

Hi, guys. I feel I'm guilty as any Inflammatory Bowel Disease patient for often hiding away and not wanting to talk about my condition with others. Despite writing and publishing a chapbook of poetry on my experiences with Crohn's Disease, I don't feel like I've done enough. There is still no...

    Impotence and diet

I think the impotency is more of a mental issue than a physical one, personally. Because one can become anxious about the state their body is in, it can affect their performance.

    Puking while pooping

Yes, this happens to me quite regularly. I often feel all feverish sat there and have to quickly flip myself around to vomit. It actually makes me feel quite pathetic :(

    Bile Acid Malabsorption

Recently had a meeting with my doctor at the outpatients clinic. He seems pretty certain that I have 'Bile Acid Malabsorption', which is fairly common after surgery with Crohn's Patients. I've been prescribed this drink, which he says tastes like "wallpaper paste", which I need to take four...
