I would call the Dr's office and ask for the results. Dr's offices are notorious for getting busy and not calling about test results.

Hi Welderfitter1! I had a fistula that was connecting 2 portions of bowel that should not normally be connected in that way. It was repaired when I had my surgery. I have not had any fistulas since the surgery. I have been on Humira for 5 1/2 years. Just recently changed to Entyvio. Humira did...

My course to a correct diagnosis was long. I had years of bloody stools in the 1980s, but no pain, etc.. In 2004, I had a flare and went to the ER 6 times in 3 months. My G.I. at the time did a colonoscopy. This colonoscopy - he could not get the scope into the Terminal Ileum. He told me I had...

    Entyvio (Vedolizumab) Support Group

I had my first Entyvio infusion last Thursday. The infusion itself was fine. I did have a problem with extreme fatigue. I slept Thursday evening. Most of the day on Friday and Saturday. Sunday I began to return to normal. How common is a fatigue attack after the infusion?

New To This Site - Questions About Surgery TI or Balloon Procedure

GI Jane I had surgery right after I was diagnosed in 2010. It has been over 6 years since that surgery and I have been on meds ever since. I think the way to go is to be your own advocate. Unfortunately that means telling the docs about everything when it happens. It has been against my nature...

    Entyvio (Vedolizumab) Support Group

My insurance has approved Entyvio. I am scheduled for my first loading infusion this Thursday. I am wondering what type of reactions to Entyvio that I should look out for? Could anyone give me some advice?

    Entyvio (Vedolizumab) Support Group

Hi everyone. I am new to the Entyvio Club. After a battle with the insurance company I am moving from Humira to Entyvio. My change is not due to Humira failing, it is due to the insurance company not covering weekly injections. The same insurance company has to approve Entyvio, but they have...

    Humira Club Support Group

Saw my GI today. The decision was made to switch me to Entyvio. I expect the insurance company to approve Entyvio because their letters denying the weekly Humira showed a list of biologics they would approve. Entyvio was on the list. So after 5 years 6 months of Humira, which did a incredible...

    Humira Club Support Group

The grounds for their decision was the FDA regulations, which for Humira is 1 shot every other week. The insurance company's rules are they will not pay for dosages that exceed the FDA regulations. Did not matter what my G.I. said or did. I wish I could be of more help on your situation Mark...

    Humira Club Support Group

Well, this is a different twist. We lost the last round of appeal. But my G.I. has decided to provide me with 2 free samples of Humira pens a month. We are also continuing my old prescription for Humira every 2 weeks, which the insurance will pay for. I did not think this was an option, but my...

    Ernie's got Crohn's :o(

Hi Ernie. I was diagnosed with Crohns in 2010 at age 47. When I was about 41 years old I had 6 trips to the emergency department for abdominal pain. The GI I went to at the time did only one test, a colonoscopy, and ordered some blood tests. The scope showed a healthy colon, but for some...

    Oatmeal

Oatmeal is soluable fiber. It absorbs water or milk and begins to break down before you eat it. Soluable fiber is generally good for Crohns. I have never had a problem with it. Now Non-soluable fiber should be avoided.

Don't do the pizza. It is not worth it.

    Skipping colonoscopies

I've never actually skipped or delayed a colonoscopy, but I have been tempted to. I can see where somebody might actually do that.

    Moving around

I do the same as Cross Stitch Gal. I take my supplements (Vit D, Vit B complex, Potassium) with my meds. I sort both my prescriptions and supplements in a weekly pill sorter. This helps me remember all my meds most of the time.

This is a resurrected old thread. Just thought I would point that out.

    Dying from crohn;s

Untreated Crohn's is where the risk of death is. My Crohn's was not treated because I was told for 6 years it was IBS. By the time the diagnosis was corrected to Crohn's in 2010, my gut was so bad that I had developed a mass in my T.I. My surgeon told me that the passageway in my small bowel was...

    Meds back and forth

You really do not want to be on any biologic for just a short period of time. If you stop the med, anti-bodies will build up, making it so the biologic will not work so well in the future. Same for Humira as for Remicade. If Remicade is working for you, I would stay on it.

My story that has so far only left me more confused

I think you might want to see a colorectal surgeon. If this surgeon you say is a colorectal surgeon, see another one! I agree with ClevelandNative64. Fissures are caused by Crohn's disease. The surgeon is off his rocker! As far as the long period of time before getting properly diagnosed, the...

    Humira Club Support Group

Thanks Jimmy. My G.I. is providing the sample pens for free while we fight this decision. I have studied my options if we don't win this appeal, which are Remicade, Entyvio, and Cimzia. (The insurance company has told us they would cover these meds.)
