How many times you been on pred since diagnosis

The only time I've been on Pred is when I was first diagnosed (fortunately). I had a terrible reaction to it. My taper lasted several months, as well. The only lasting side effect I had was recurring zombie nightmares for about a year afterwards (these started while I was on Pred - every time...

Effects of alcohol on your IBD

Anything I'm used to is no problem unless I were to over-do it. If it's a new drink, it causes me some pain the next morning.

Effects of coffee on your IBD

Coffee used to be torturous to me, even after a few drinks. However, winter before last, I would pour a little into a to-go cup and carry it with me to keep my hands warm on the walk from the parking garage to work, and take little sips every day. Eventually my body got used to it. Now I can...

    Excuse Me: We are healthy!

Well, no. It all comes down to how to choose to think about it, yes. But, as Cat said, we have to be mindful of our condition(s) no matter how well we may feel at the time. I'm not a "sick person" or a "healthy person." I have a disease. Sometimes I feel sick and other times I don't. There...

    The Miserable Prednisonites Club

Jessica, I haven't personally experienced that. I'm sorry no one has responded to this sooner. Have you seen a doctor yet? What did they say?

What pain relief works for you?

First off, I suggest you stop the ibuprofen. NSAIDs are generally bad for anyone with IBD. Tylenol, however, is fine. Did your doctor recommend the combination? I've never heard of co-codamol, it but looks to me like it's just codeine and Tylenol. Is this correct?

    Really Need Answers / Info...

Welcome to the forum! It's not unusual at all to have several negative test results before finally finding a diagnosis. During these tests, where was the possible Crohn's found (large intestine, small, stomach, etc.)? Were biopsies taken of these areas? If so, have you gotten those results...

I'm sorry to hear what the two of you are going through. It sounds so frustrating. As terrible as it is for both of you, at least she has your support and understanding. I hope things get better for both of you soon.

    Pain location?

My severe pain is located between my hip bones, below my bellybutton. Pretty much where my ovaries are, spreading all the way across. However, I've experienced stomach pain is just about every other area as well. The dull pain around the navel definitely sounds familiar to me.

    My battle to Crohns diagnosis

Welcome to the forum! Yes, the long road to diagnosis is fairly common. I experienced symptoms for about nine years before I was finally diagnosed. For most people, it takes a few months to a few years. Crohn's can be very difficult to diagnose. An MRI is definitely easier than scopes, but...

    Mini-vents

I'm due for a good mini-vent! I'm starting a new job - possibly career. I'm not locking myself in just yet, but it is something people make a career of, and the company prides itself on how many employees do end up staying and eventually retiring there. I keep getting a lot of, "I wouldn't...

Inflammation causing ulcers does not make sense.

When inflammation becomes severe, it ulcerates. It essentially just breaks through the tissue and forms and open wound. The question is more what causes the inflammation.

Blood in stool and 6mp...what about remicade?

Try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done, but stress can be a big factor in these sorts of things. You're already having a colonoscopy soon, so there's no need to stress yourself out right now. You're doing all you can. You might end up on Remicade. If so, you'll likely feel...
