    Overweight with Crohn's Support Group

I was on Prevacid & Zantac forever before my first flare. I had terrible chest/rib/back pain. I don't think it was ever acid reflux. I think it was Crohn's all along. I haven't had it for a year!

    Severe abdominal pain

Lara you're on way too much medicine to be in that much pain! Definitely avoid the ibuprofen. It's not your friend. And the eyes might be thrush too, I've had that (before Crohn's Diagnosis). It might mean you need a systemic anti-fungal like Diflucan if your GI thinks you can tolerate it. The...

    Overweight with Crohn's Support Group

The only thing that's given me D more than once is apples. Salad is hit or miss. Greasy food? No problem. Sweets? You betcha! Even beer & wine are fine. I'm fine avoiding high fiber meals. I'm fine not doing high-impact exercise. But I need to get on track, my own track!

    New to Forum

A doctor telling me to not research something would really tick me off. You'll find tons of people here having beautiful success with biologics (Remicade & Humira). There are support group threads for each. My GI reminds me when I whine about being on a double dose of Humira that the goal is to...

    Overweight with Crohn's Support Group

Yep, you're right. I've had such a sucky time committing to losing weight or even modifying my diet without being able to revert to salads and raw produce. That seems to be a common theme around here. I'd love to see or be a part of a Crohn's/IBD specific blog/forum/social media group!

    Terminal ileum Crohn's treatment

You're getting good info from DustyKat. If your symptoms worsen at all, go back to the dr ASAP. Pentasa is the opposite of big guns for a Crohn's flare, especially when taken without a steroid.

    Overweight with Crohn's Support Group

I'm sorry! IG is Instagram :) I've been reading so much on diet and Paleo and autoimmunity but am so discouraged when I see all the salad and stuff...and crossfitters ;) I know IBD is so individual but there are a few common threads, right?

    SCD/Paleo/GAPS Support Group

I'm reading Paleo Approach and I wish I'd skipped the science-y chapters when she said where to skip to, lol!! The Autoimmune Paleo Cookbook is beautiful! AIP is an elimination diet (not meant as a lifestyle long-term) that, in addition to those foods eliminated with Paleo, eliminates...

    Overweight with Crohn's Support Group

I mentioned in the diet section the desire for pretty Crohn's friendly food. Is anyone else on IG? Should we start a hashtag of our very own?

    Pretty paleo for Crohn's?

    Great @carolinalaska !

Cannot eat anything anymore and I am at my wits end!! HELP

I'm glad you're here. You're getting good diet advice. You need to go to the doctor and figure out what your options are for medicine. Stop being discouraged by what you hear and become your own advocate. Humira has an assistance program. Get some medical attention and get this flare slowed...

    My experience with Shakeology

I imagine there will be some critics of you posting about direct-marketing sales but I'm glad to read this. I've wondered about Shakeology. There's a stimulant in it, isn't there? So glad it's helping you!

My BM's haven't looked this good since I can remember...

So interesting!! I originally would have put money on it being the Omegas from the salmon but I bet you're right after reading how carefully you've managed your diet. Yay!

    Pretty paleo for Crohn's?

I've been reading a lot on diet. I'm motivated by pretty food, pretty Instagram accounts, well-done blogs...I've found a lot of good ones to follow; both Paleo & AIP. But I get really discouraged by the amount of non-Crohn's friendly items, mostly veggies and fruit. It turns me off. Anyone else...

Making money while sick? I could use some ideas / help.

Dereksmagic, I'd love to help you out with this! I would suggest a website with square space or maybe smugmug depending on your business model. I don't know if your niche idea is related to real estate but real estate agents love to network! I sent in my transcription test to tigerfish...

    Surprise!! You've got Crohn's disease

Sorry for the sudden diagnosis, Freddie. I was kind of the same but am 39. My thoughts: stress and NSAIDs are you're two most likely triggers. Artificial sweeteners aren't awesome but I tolerate a diet coke daily just fine now that things have settled down Careful with the pre-pro-biotics. We...

What happens to the body while you are tampering prednisone

The 20mg mark can be tough as that's when your own adrenal glands have to start kicking back in.

Want to ride a bike, but seats hurt.

A lot of times, butt soreness from bike riding is from friction. Just keep that in mind. That's why people sometimes think the giant, oversized seats hurt worse; more surface area = more friction.

    Weight :(

I totally know what you mean. I equate salads with "eating healthy" so when I couldn't eat those, I couldn't figure out how to get on track. I feel so much better when I have made or bought juice and have bone broth on hand to make quick bowls of soup. Little things like that helped me break the...

    Nightshades

Nightshades are excluded on the Autoimmune Paleo Protocol. I have such a hard time imagining someone having that much trouble with potatoes that they should be completely excluded. But reading up on things like this keeps us thinking and if cutting tomatoes completely as a result of reading...
