    Remicade lifer?

I'd be curious to hear about people's stories with this too. It seems like Remicade can be great for knocking out inflammation quickly, but I do wonder about switching to something milder for maintenance once in remission. Particularly for young people, it would seem to make sense to try to...

    Allergic Reaction to Remicade

Scary stories here. I've heard the recommendations for Tylenol and antihistamines. Has anyone else found anything that seems to help minimize reactions? (Sleep? Exercise? Eating?)

Going on Remicade, anyone wearing gloves when goin out?

My GI recommended getting the flu vaccine and making sure my pneumonia shot was updated prior to starting Remicade. I think the recommendation is that anyone in the household should do the same. When I took my kids to get their flu vaccine, the paperwork said that the nasal spray is live...

I also had primarily SBO's and few other symptoms, but doc is recommending Remicade based on imaging showing expanded inflammation and the atart of a possible fistula. Have they done a MR enterography to try to image the inflammation? What about blood markers of inflammation (e.g., CRP)?

    New here, nervous

Are you seeing a gastroenterologist? It seems like the next step is figuring out what is causing that inflammation. Did they recommend any further testing like a colonoscopy or MRI?

    Oh Please Help

I hope you feel better soon. I'm also about to start Remicade in a few weeks. As I've been researching it, there seems to be some evidence that specifically for fistulas, it may be the more effective of the biologics.

    Freaked out facing reality

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Reading some of the stories has been intense and helped me realize how fortunate I've been in terms of avoiding really serious consequences so far. Not that partial SBOs aren't potentially dangerous, but at least there haven't been any perforations...

    Freaked out facing reality

Hi everyone. I'm new here and really just getting started on actually facing what's been going on with my Crohn's. Since being diagnosed in early 2013, I've really dragged my feet on taking care of things. After over a year of usually not even being able to read about Crohn's for more than a...

    Hello All

I can totally relate with the "sensitive stomach" thing. I always thought I was just a bit more susceptible to food poisoning than most people. I eventually developed periodic bouts of bloating and vomiting that left a few generalists (and me) scratching their heads and minimizing it for about...

    Remicade Club Support Group

I just made the jump and told my GI's office to start the ball rolling on insurance approval to start Remicade last month. I've had sporadic SBOs for about 9 years that usually resolve on their own with no day-to-day symptoms, so have really dragged my feet about starting medication. I just...

    Do I really need Remicade?

KM, I'm in a similar boat. I was diagnosed in 2012 after several years of several partial obstructions that left my primary scratching his head. I've tried some alternate approaches for a while and haven't had an obstruction for 5 months, but a repeat MRI a few weeks ago showed intensified and...
