    Remicade and laser hair removal

Oh crap I'm on azathioprine and get laser hair removal on my face done every couple of months! Might need to ask my GI about this. I do not experience redness or burns or anything from it. Am I increasing my risk of skin cancer though? That is my concern? :ybatty:

What could be the cause of my ulcer

Lots of things can cause constipation, including non-digestive conditions so it would be impossible to say at this point.

What could be the cause of my ulcer

What country do you live in? Some places like the UK are very slow due to financial restraints and long waiting lists. Perhaps ring and leave messages with your GI Secretary / go and see your GP / request a second opinion / pay to see someone privately. You will get to the bottom of it...

What could be the cause of my ulcer

That's a controversial idea, it is generally thought that while MAP COULD be the cause of Crohn's for some patients, it cannot be the cause for ALL patients. There is loads of discussion about this in the research section of the board. As yet nothing is proven with the MAP hypothesis and studies...

What could be the cause of my ulcer

It used to be thought that stomach ulcers may be caused by certain lifestyle factors, such as spicy foods, stress and alcohol, and a genetic predisposition to excessive stomach acid secretion. However, there is little hard evidence to confirm that this is the case and this line of thinking has...

What could be the cause of my ulcer

You need to be tested for celiac disease and get a colonoscopy. I get duodenal ulcers but at each endoscopy they have healed and a new one formed. I have Crohn's disease (although my ulcer biopsies are always "negative for Crohn's") and I also have suspected celiac disease.

    Stelara Vs. Sulfasalazine

Sulfasalazine is the weaker drug and would be considered by many not to be suitable in Crohn's for this reason. However, if that drug is able to put you into stable remission, that would be a more preferable drug to go for.

    Remicade and HPV

Hello I have HPV and I am on azathioprine so same issue as you - immune system is too suppressed to fight it off. Although I am female I can relate. Yes I get Pap smears but the HPV can affect more than just the cervix. It can cause all forms of genital cancer, anal cancer (even if you haven't...

    Undiagnosed and needing help

OK you would have needed to drink a few litres of foul tasting liquid (laxatives) that they prescribe in order for it to get as far as can. They cannot rule out Crohn's until it reaches as far as it can go.

    Undiagnosed and needing help

Hi Jackie, When you say you had an endoscopy did the camera go down your throat or up your back passage? If the latter it sounds like it didn't get very far. The latter would a colonoscopy and it would need to get all the way to the terminal ileum for the best chance of getting a Crohn's...

    Desperate For Help

So when exactly was the last time you had a colonoscopy? That's really bad that you have been passed around like this. I think you should contact PALS and in particular quote this: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Crohns-disease/Pages/Treatment.aspx In particular: If your symptoms flare up twice or...

    Desperate For Help

Hi, OK I would be wondering whether you need to be referred to a new hospital entirely. You say you have seen several specialists so I am quite horrified not one has mentioned these medications to you. Are they all at the same hospital? Where abouts in the UK are you? (I'm UK based as well)...

    Desperate For Help

Hi do you know which ones? The UK tends to be very conservative with prescribing medication for Crohn's due to the expense. It might be that if you can get your Crohn's under control it may help the other issues somewhat.

Report of ultrasound: what does this mean?

I am not sure exactly that what I have had in the past were obstructions but my symptoms sounded a lot like what other people said they felt like when they had obstructions. I have never been to hospital for them though. Symptoms: horrific painful cramps, like waves of pain, like labour...
