    Toxin Exposure prior to Diagnosis

Hi all, This is just thinking out loud, but my naturopath asked me some questions and it came back to my mind::ywow: Prior to my first breakout of symptoms, I was exposed to formaldehyde and other toxins (2.5 months before first and sudden symptoms; toxins were measured but within the...

Etiology of inflammatory bowel disease: A unified hypothesis

Haven't gone through the whole threat but just want to remind of something: Correlation is not the same as causality. *nerd-mode off lol* So even if a study or 10 studies can determine one factor that seems to correlate with the outcome it does not mean that there are 10 other factors that...

    Low-Grade Fever After Meals?

Resolution of these mysterious symptoms: Severe gastritis in all parts of the stomach lining, stomach ulcer as well as pancreatitis.

    When Entocort isn't working?

Could you try Uceris instead? First, Entocort did work for me but now Uceris is way more effective, even little to no side effects (water retention etc. which I had with Entocort, but that's very individual). I normally see effects after 1-3 days. Uceris is Budesonide as well, coated...

    Experiences with Diet

I have tried different diets (for myself). Firstly I would like to mention that I beliefe that diet can just be the additional part to diet, but - no doubt - a very critical one. So, I tried different diets BEFORE being diagnosed so that's a completely different issue, would be more...

    Skin peeling in mouth

I've been dealing with that sensation as well and it stopped when I stopped using a certain toothpaste. I would not be too concerned actually, maybe it disappears soon without noticing and maybe you can find a correlation afterwards.

Help gaining weight. How did you do it?

Enteral nutrition as additional nutrition (ModulenIBD, Fresubin, Fortisip etc.) as well as high caloric foods, according to what you found to be tolerable for your gut (enriched with nut butters without sugar, cream, butter etc., avoid too much sugar for helping with good bacteria, as sugar...

    Low-Grade Fever After Meals?

How did they find out about it? My symptoms seem to be stable for the past few days, not getting worse actually. No idea if obstruction would be like that?

    Low-Grade Fever After Meals?

I was given iron via iv. What was it in the end when you had these symptoms?

    Low-Grade Fever After Meals?

Hi there, For about a week or something I am experiencing sweating and low-grade fever after a meal (37.6-37.8 degrees Celsius). Feeling super tired in addition, can't focus on anything. Sleeping for about 12 (?) hours each night (normally 6-8 h). This did occur simultaneously with my gastric...

    Sweets!

It's more the sugar issue to me as well, no regard on whether it is Haribo or anything else. Seem to be doing better with glucose for baking than standard saccharose but currently I stay away from “artificial“ sugars and eat sweet fruit instead.

What's your CRP during a flare?

My CRP never was indicative for disease activity, neither for the gut nor for the Crohn's-associated arthritis (which left my first rheumatologist quite confused lol, but that isn't uncommon in fact, even though some gastroenterologists, rheumatologists, or my current GPs keep relying on CRP).

    Caffeine - Any coffee drinkers?

I would get really irritated digestion system in general, first starting feeling nauseous, some stomach pain, stinging pain in my tummy (small intestine?) and eventually urgency, so I stay away from coffee :-( (same with theine, unfortunately...)

Inflammation in the Small Intestine only

Oh sorry, yes, of course! I mixed up the terminology of jejunum and duodenum. All right, I see, tank you! :)

Inflammation in the Small Intestine only

No worries, that's all right. :) Was just wondering if there is a problem with my signature. ;-)

Inflammation in the Small Intestine only

Thank you so much DustyKat! Really makes sense to me now, thank you. I have enteropathic arthritis from Crohn's as extra intestinal manifestation, diagnosed 2 months after being diagnosed with Crohn's about two years ago (should be in my signature if it is working?).

Inflammation in the Small Intestine only

Thank you for summing up, Eleanor. If I understand it correctly, the inflammation in the small intestine (apart from inflamed terminal ileum) was visible via upper endoscopy, wasn't it? Last time I had this kind of gastritis flare with the exact same symptoms my duodenum looked fine, so I...

Inflammation in the Small Intestine only

Thank you so much, Eleanor! Sounds pretty similar to what I am experiencing currently. Quite gassy in addition, BMs normal and could go with breakfast and dinner only, as it takes ages until I feel better after a meal or can imagine having a meal again. Can only deal with the pain when I eat too...

    Question about oral manifestations

Sorry to hear about that. Haven't heard of that, I'm afraid.
