    Lasik eye surgery

Howdy everyone! I’m happy to report that I’m still seeing 20/20 almost 4 years post surgery! My UC has been in remission this whole time, still on the same medication combo (weekly Humira, and daily azathioprine & Apriso). I had a baby in 2022 and was nervous about things changing but all is...

    Humira success! - First Baby

Hello IBD family! It's been a while since I've lurked or posted here but that's because life has been good after starting Humira back in January 2020 to treat my UC. Since then, I have been able to enjoy life once again and been in remission since Fall 2020. I also wanted to share that I was...

    Remicade in mexico

Your welcome! I hope you can find a nice place to retire without any worries. I forgot to mention that Mexico has something similar to our Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. Here's the link: https://crohncuci.org.mx/ Maybe you can reach out to them for some information on where you can find infusion...

    Remicade in mexico

I don't live in Mexico but I was born in Monterrey which is one of the largest cities in the northeastern part of Mexico. I do occasionally travel back home to visit family and I know for a fact there are IBD specialists that treat patients with entyvio, remicade and humira. The city has...

    Feeling Worst after a colonoscopy

Thanks for the detailed breakdown Scipio. All things considered, I am definitely grateful for where I'm at. I am barely at the 2 year mark since getting my UC diagnosis and I'm just happy to feel somewhat "normal" again. Of course, I would have loved to hear hystological remission but the way I...

    Feeling Worst after a colonoscopy

So I had my follow-up appointment yesterday and received the results of my colonoscopy biopsies. Overall, I got good news! My GI took 5 biopsies total throughout my colon. Four out of the 5 show no active disease!! However the biopsy taken in my ascending colon (right side) shows a small area of...

    Feeling a bit let down...

I hope stelara works amazingly well for you. Yes, I guess I should be greatful for having low numbers. I tend to get fixated on the small things...this disease can be so overwhelming.

    Heard from Doc today

I've come across and read so many stories of folks who have found a whole new meaning to life after a stoma. They are not strapped to the bathroom and for the first time feel "free" to enjoy life again. There's a gentleman on one of the groups I follow who comes to mind. His name is Keith...

    Feeling Worst after a colonoscopy

Oh man...I'm so sorry to hear. But at least it sounds like your GI has a plan in place and you still have somewhere to go with stelara. I hope the antibody test show going to every 4 weeks is the way to go. That might be the thing that finally gets you "across the finish line." 🤞

Entyvio has stopped working for me after about 14 months

Sorry to hear you are having issues...has your GI ran any labs to see what is going on? How high are your inflammatory markers? You are already being bumped up to more frequent infusions but perhaps your GI can add some mesalamine or an immunomodulator (azathioprine, 6-MP, methotrexate) to your...

    Feeling Worst after a colonoscopy

@Scipio , you were right!! I am back to pre-colonscopy normal. It did take around 5-6 days but I'm a happy camper. Now I just have to wait a couple of weeks for the pathology results and follow up appointment to see where we go from here. I hope all is well with you. 🙂

    Feeling Worst after a colonoscopy

Oh wow...thanks for sharing your experience. I hope your results are promising. I reached out to my SIL who is a GI nurse and she mentioned that the prep can sometimes cause some inflammatory appearance in the tissue during the scope. She told me to give it a few days for things to settle down...

    Feeling Worst after a colonoscopy

I had a colonoscopy on Monday to check how my current treatment is working. The only other colonoscopy I've had was back in October 2019 when I got diagnosed so I don't have anything else to compare it to. The prep itself was not as bad as I remember and the procedure went smoothly. It may be...

    CORALE IBD V Study - COVID-19 Vaccine

I continued my meds as scheduled and didn't skip any doses. For example, I take humira weekly (on Fridays) and my first dose was on a Friday. My 2nd dose was on a Thursday and the next day I took my humira as planned despite feeling crabby (flu like symptoms due to vaccine response). I also take...

    CORALE IBD V Study - COVID-19 Vaccine

Just dropping by for an update. I received my blood work results and they are as follow: So according to this, I have never had COVID-19, hence the almost non existent "anti-N" number and had a positive response to vaccine based on the "anti-S" numbers. My 2nd Pfizer dose was done on March...

    Feeling a bit let down...

My fecal calprotectin has improved! We are now down to 58...not in the normal range but very close. GI said not to worry...I'll be getting a scope done next month and he's confident it will be "remission " for me. Other than that no symptoms.

    CORALE IBD V Study - COVID-19 Vaccine

I'm currently on humira (weekly), 50mg/day Azathioprine and Apriso (4 capsules/day). I'm supposed to get my antibody results in about 6-8 weeks. I was told they plan to follow the participants long term (up to 3 years) to check for any long term effects. Here's the link to sign up if anyone is...

    CORALE IBD V Study - COVID-19 Vaccine

So I signed up a few weeks ago for this study being led by Cedar Sinai Medical Center in LA after listening to a video from the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation. They are trying to determine the safety & effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine in people with IBD. Yesterday I received a pretty cool...

I have been lurking your post and following O's journey. Just wanted to wish her the best and hope she gets some relief soon. She sounds like quite the trooper.
