Who's the youngest person here on Humira?

I remember when we were looking at starting Humira- our pediatric GI had mentioned a study involving pediatric use age 4 to 17. It may have been for juvenile arthritis- I don't recall all the details. It was a deer in the headlights appointment for us. If your insurance won't approve the...

    If you could go back....

Well we were severe/uncontrollable crohn's on diagnosis. As hard as it was to accept personally, we went with the top down approach. Tried traditional medications to gain control and progressed to biologicals when they failed us. If I could do anything differently, I would have forced the...

How long does Humira stay in your system?

Half life is 10 to 20 days. So it would all be cleared in about 6 weeks

Anyone successful w/skin numbing creams for injections

Yes, it does help us out tremendously. I get the generic tubes and get the tegaderm patches through my pharmacy. He says it doesn't sting as much so he doesn't tense up as much for the injection. Plus, no begging to wait a few more minutes until he's ready. If we aren't doing shot in...

Anyone successful w/skin numbing creams for injections

We started putting it on while my son was asleep. He would wake up and not have time to get nervous. He's also a worrier.

Anyone successful w/skin numbing creams for injections

Yes, EMLA (lidocaine/prilocaine) cream. Put a big glob on leg- cover with saran wrap or the barrier patches you can buy from specialty pharmacy. Within 1 hour it is optimal numbing. To speed it up, cover with heat pad or something warm. Ice is a disaster for us. We also found out that we...

Humerous, Bad, Thoughtless ,or Unbelievable Comments

After being asked about medications son was currently taking. From the pediatrician's nurse- "Why are you talking about Humira- we don't take that insurance as copay." Head slap and pulled strings to get him into an internist.

He's still running a fever. So even if it breaks tomorrow, we have to wait 48 hours for shot or Sun at the earliest. I hate delaying for any reason and hope my husband and son will go without me but doubt it

    Humira Club Support Group

My son has a fever and we are going to delay his Humira. It will be a week late due to my travel schedule. Has anybody delayed their dose by a week without impacting their remission? He is comfortable with the shot only if he holds my husband's hand while I give the shot. So, it's a 3 person...

    Pentasa Opinions

We're still taking it at the same dosage. Our seds and crp are all within normal range. There's a chance that it isn't doing much medicinally for us at this point. But, I'm afraid to remove it and find out that it was actually contributing to the Humira success. Brendan didn't gain much...

Will keep them crossed for you too. Sometimes, I wish there was a definite sign that yes it's crohns- instead of constantly worrying.
