When I start feeling bad I just call my GI and set up an appointment. Blood test colonoscopy and then treatment. No fooling around.

Does anyone else NOT take medicine?

When I had my first operation I was 12 I stopped taking medication from then on all the way to my early 30. Then all hell broke loose and I started suffering like crazy. Now I'm on remi and if somebody suggest quitting I'll kick em in the nuts!

    Accused of drug seeking

The only way I have found not to be accused of drug seeking is to ask the same doctor for my pain meds. And I bring my previous prescriptions with me so they know when I ask for them and how mcuh I got. I have a family doctor and my GI. I ask them only for pain meds. In Quebec we will soon be...

    $$$$$$

INdeed, strange that the office said nothing. My doctor put me in touch with a sales rep for Remi and they did all the paperowrk for me and check with my insurance company to see if I needed help with the payments. All I had to do is sign a letter and I was done.

    6mp Hair Loss

F_Else says it all. I'm a bit older than you are at 38 but I shave my head and I have been shaved for the last 7 years. Girls usually dig it. With this medication you sometimes have to make a few choices. Shaving your head is not to high a price for a remission. at least in my case. You...

    Slow healing

I've had my 7th shot of remi last week. Last april when I started it I broke my leg really badly and had to get operated. All this to say that I healed treally fast like always. I was on blood thinners for 6 months and also never had any problems with healing. ust thought I would give my input.

    Hunger feeling..

I had that when I started pred and then when I was on remi. I think it's a side effect of feeling good. when we are sick we never want to eat and when we finally feel better our body reacts with the lets eat feeling.

    Health Insurance?

It's good to be offended on occasion. However I am not going out of my way to do so. SO I do apologise. I am very open minded. Why don't you enlighten me, what is it that so many of us seem to not get?

Major flare up after 16 months on Remicade/Imuran

Rygon says it well. Even though we are on Remi it does not always mean we are free of the plague. We still have to be careful. I love mushrooms but they just pass right through me and it hurts. Hope you get better soon.

    Fear of Restarting Remicade

It's always a possibility. And the reactions are usualy very direct. I'm sure you bnurse /doctor are aware of this and will be chekcking you when you get your doage. I gather you discused this with your doctor as well? The fact that everybody knows will diminish the risks. In my opinion it's...

First infusion - Belly on fire

Welcome to the remicade group! Pred is a short term remedy. You don't want to be on those for a long time. Remicade on the other hand when everything goes well is pretty much the only thing you will ever need. You might need a immuno suppresor to go with it but that's all. I would not worry to...
