    Anyone who's had a resection

I'm a year post-resection and have had the occasional cramp but nothing too serious. Again I don't know if this is food related but it always seems to pass in no time. Keep well.

    Fissure treatment??

I developed a fissure about 6 months ago which bleeds profusely whenever I have a BM. My GI told me the cause was due to chronic diarrhoea so we started off with salt baths which did nothing, followed by Asacol suppositories which again were unsuccessful. He is now recommending an "Anal...

    Pulmonary Embolism following Surgery

So this is how ****** my life has been recently. I had a resection performed on 24th August for a perforated ileum and have been recovering nicely and started Humira, started to gain weight and have been pain free for the first time in a long, long, long time. Things were really looking up. I...

    Sex drive

My partner left me for the very same reason just before I had surgery. Apparantly, it turned out, my performance, energy levels and appetite were not up to scratch but unfortunately it wasn't something we could discuss openly and honestly. I think Legacywwe is doing the right thing by coming...

    Gas Pain After Surgery

It's been 2 months since my surgery and initially I was experiencing a lot of pain from trapped wind however it has eased over time and although I am still farting like the clappers the pain has gone. I found that walking helps and also lying in bed and gentle rocking from side to side. Good...

I had a Bacardi & Coke last weekend. My first alcoholic drink in one year or so. It was awful and gave me a slamming headache.

Not sure that's 100% accurate Sam. Many of us would not be here now if it wasn't for surgery. Costas

Saw my GI yesterday who smiled broadley when I walked into his office and then laughed out loud. He told me I looked great, like a completely different person than the one who left his clinic 5 weeks ago. In that time, I have gained 5 kg. I am completely symptom free except for diarrhoea which...

Anyone have CD and no health insurance?

I tried to get medical insurance but not one company would offer me cover. I recently had surgery and had to take out an 8,000 Euro bank loan (the surgery cost 10,000 Euros). I lied to the bank saying I wanted the loan to make major changes to my home. They were good enough to give me the loan...

    In alot of pain

I find Buscopan Plus gives temporary relief but it's not a solution. You definitely need to get to the ER if you can't get to see your GI. Hope you feel better soon. Costas

Had my second Humira shot 2 days ago and have had a terrible headache since. I didn't have any symptoms following the loading doses but this headache is not shifting. My legs also feel very weak and I'm generally very tired. Costas

    White bleach marks on skin

I have a few on my back and shoulders. My GI said they are a reaction to my sunbathing while taking steroids. He said it was nothing to worry about but to stay out of the sun. Costas

I have no idea what he is planning. I was on Remicade for about a year but became immune to it which is why I was prescribed Humira. I need to ask some questions at my next apointment. Costas

    Humira Club Support Group

Picked up my prescription today for my next Humira shot. It has been about 7 weeks since the loading doses due to unexpected surgery in between. My GI told me that they will monitor me for some months and then hopefully wean me off Humira completely. I am already tapering off of Medrol...

    Weird feeling in Mouth.

Metronidazole (Nidagyl) leaves an awful metallic taste in my mouth. I've just come off it after a month and slowly my taste buds are returning. I believe in Europe and the US this drug is Flagyl. Please correct me if I am wrong. Costas
