Why do I read crap on the internet?

Mom5272, another reason for you to be less worried would be that the risk of cancer on these medications is really tiny and increases with the number of years of use (its still very small even after years of use, though) and seems to lessen again after you stop a medication. The next two years...

Best brand probiotic in the USA?

By the way, is there any consensus on whether probiotics are good or bad for Crohns? I don´t mind taking them and possibly having no benefit, I just also want to make sure it's not going to make anything worse.

Best brand probiotic in the USA?

Thanks, Ron! How about an option that does not require refrigeration? I'm from Brazil and we don´t have many options here. My dad is travelling to the states in a couple of weeks and I wanted to ask him to bring me some. But, obviously, it has to be something that can be bought off the shelf.

Best brand probiotic in the USA?

Hi guys, Just wondering what probiotics you use, if any, what you look for in them, and perhaps a brand name sold in the US? Thank you!

    Partial obstruction--i'm confused

If you don´t know for sure if its scar tissue or not, I would still try the drugs first. If it doesn´t work, operate!

    Partial obstruction--i'm confused

Hi! Just out of curiosity, how did they establish you had 6mm lumen opening? I know I have a stricture, but I was never told what the diameter was... Do you know what test you had that allowed for such a precise measurement? Thanks! Apart from that I would try the drugs before surgery if I were...

    Small bowel mri results

Oh, if it makes you feel better (because, like you, I went through months of agony before I got a diagnosis) is something my doctor who is a specialist in IBD said: "When we're having tough time diagnosing someone it is because of either of two reasons: either the patient is so severely sick...

    Small bowel mri results

Hi there, my small bowel MRI was key to my diagnosis. It showed inflammation (thickened intestinal wall) in a part of my ileum. That was the first test I did that showed anything out of the ordinary other than my fecal calprotectin that, like yours, was highish (190, then 105). All my blood work...

    SSI Qu Biologics Crohn's

Thank you Scared1! It would be great to hear from study participants as well. The AMAT folk are very vocal and I was just wondering what the experience has been with SSIs since we do not have study results yet. I'm also looking around and wondering what is closest to hitting the marketplace from...

Any news on QU SSI therapy?

Hi guys! I was just wondering if there are members out there who participated in the trial and who can share their experience? Or if they can tell us anything about when results will be published and new trials begin? This seems incredibly promising but I haven´t found many recent posts...

RedHill Biopharma granted RHB-104 patent until 2029, planning phase III europe trials

Thanks for the update Imotsie! I'm looking forward to the interim report in December! Do you know if there are any research teams that take patients from overseas?

    Stricture - duodenum

I hope the images from the scope help your GI decide on what is the case. Like I said, in my case the images were enough for an answer (although my MRI was not). I think the good news though is that something can be done about it in either case, inflammation or stricture! I hope she is doing...

RedHill Biopharma granted RHB-104 patent until 2029, planning phase III europe trials

When will Redhill publish or share interim results? I also find it worrisome that they´re pushing back on releasing data... :/

    RHB-104 phase 3 trial.

That's great to hear Imotsie! Keep us posted! Do you know when they´ll be releasing an interim report?

    Stricture - duodenum

Hi! I think your GI should be able to tell whether the stricture is scar tissue or inflammation. I say that because I have a stricture in my mid ileum that was seen on capsule endoscopy and both the endoscopist who wrote the report and my GI said the stricture was fibrotic (scar tissue). What...

What to do when sick and on Aza/6-mp?

Thank you so much for your reply, my little penguin! You are always incredibly helpful around the forum! So, if I understood you correctly, if I get a fever I should call my GI, right? Does the GI then work with you to figure out what is wrong, or do you need to call a GP at the same time? Thank...
