    Right side?

There's the rest of your Ileum. The end of your small bowel before the bit that was cut out would have been attached to your large bowel in the same location as before, i.e. lower right, and it seems the disease likes to attack back in the same place even if it is now a different bit of small...

    Worried I have bowel cancer

I always find soup messes up my digestion. Strange as that may sound. Re: pain, maybe if the food is going straight through you there isn't any pressure anywhere to cause pain.

    Symptoms of Crohns?

Sounds like what would happen to me every now and again. People here always talk about flares; I've never been sure I really get them other than those episodes which would usually only last a day.

    Worried I have bowel cancer

Was the blood bright red? That means it's from the anus, i.e. a fissure or soreness, not surprising if you've had diarrhoea. Blood from further up would be darker. I wouldn't worry about losing a few pounds. Obviously if it continues it might be a sign of Crohn's getting worse.

Raw honey helping my crohns flare?

Eating local honey is meant to help with hayfever. I tried it once. Didn't help. https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/health/927136/crohns-was-ruining-my-life-but-manuka-honey-has-saved-me/ Bear in mind that The Sun is the newspaper that has Page 3 Girls, so make if that story what you will.

    Night sweats!

Same here. And that was on no meds. Seems to be a fairly common symptom.

Is this a side effect of Azathioprine - phone doctor?

Could be. The last couple of years I've had spots this time of year and that sounds to me similar to what you describe. I suspect vitamin D in my case as taking some seemed to help and in summer there were no such problems. Though if you're in OZ then obviously not. I'm also on 100mg after...

    Timescales

About 20 years.. Though to be fair most of that time I just accepted the 'just IBS' diagnosis and only sought help again once it had got a lot worse and I'd lost lots of weight. But even then it took them 6 months to decide it was Crohns and another 2 months to tell me.

    What did you eat today?

Corn Flakes and toast for breakfast. I had some chicken for lunch, just by itself as I didn't have anything else. I made some beef stew (with mushrooms, peppers, garlic, onion, carrots and parsnips) that I had for dinner along with my favourite ingredient: Azathioprine. And then a strawberry...

    Dying from crohn;s

Anaemia would probably get you in the end too, and related to that B12 deficiency. There's a reason why it was initially called "Pernicious" Anaemia - i.e. deadly. I'm sure if I hadn't had surgery or some other radical treatment 2 years ago I wouldn't be here now.

    U.K. Vs Elsewhere...

I always wondered about vasectomies. Not that I want one. My step-mother had big problems with varicose veins that the NHS wouldn't do anything about. But now they live in France so it was dealt with quickly, with apparently some disgust for British healthcare. And because they're retired it...

    U.K. Vs Elsewhere...

I don't have health insurance any more. I have had it a couple of times with different jobs, but they always excluded pre-existing conditions which makes it a bit of a waste of time for anyone with a chronic condition. I assumed I wasn't covered in this case too, but it was only when I told my...

Do you take anything for fatigue?

This is very unscientific, but I have been noticing the last few weeks I haven't been falling asleep in the afternoon and I have been taking some Vitamin D tablets (1000 IU). I think there's different kinds of fatigue. When I was anaemic I remember that I could barely get out of a chair without...

    U.K. Vs Elsewhere...

I don't agree; I don't think the NHS has been worse in the last few years than the last 20 years. If anything there's some signs of improvement; for example my GP's surgery now send text message reminders, something they could have been doing for years. I'm sure the politicians see as much as...

    Colonoscopy + obstruction

I guess we're talking about balloon dilation. I think they literally push a balloon up there and inflate it to stretch your bowel back to its normal size. I found a YouTube video if you can stomach watching it ;-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzktcbTiW_4

    Urgent referral for ct scan

I was also referred as suspected cancer, but the ultrasound and colonoscopy didn't show any signs and so they reverted to their more normal leisurely pace and eventually diagnosed me after a CT scan, which showed exactly the same as above. Good luck.

My story of living with Crohn's

Welcome. Sounds like you have common or garden Crohn's of the Terminal Ileum. What happened in your colonoscopy is exactly what happened in mine. Just been reading about pen spinning and modding. Wow - I had no idea that was a thing. And I think you should learn C++.:D

    Imuran/Azathioprine/6-MP Support Group

I've been told to reduce the dose from 150 to 100mg. I hope that doesn't meant the symptoms creep back.

    U.K. Vs Elsewhere...

The NHS seems to be in permanent catch up. It's like at some point in the past they got 3 months behind, and even though it's coping with the current demand the backlog is still there. IMO the free at the point of use ideal gets in the way and is half the problem, and we should be having a good...

Crohnsforum.com monetizing / selling my info?

Thanks. I've blocked it with Chrome AdBlock. I don't generally like blocking ads as sites like this wouldn't survive, but this one goes too far.
