Hi Nicole, I just joined and figured this out. I sent you a PM. I have Ulcerative Colitis and my flares always start with mucous in the stool. I would suspect your are experiencing reflux (the food moving up and down) as well. It can be taken care of with over the counter meds. Good luck!
