    Alleviation of flare-up symptoms

Yeah, I know I need to call my doc. I will try the psyllium husks! I made some juice this morning in the juicer and I'm drinking that here at work. Unfortunately, I work in a hospital and I can't sit down for long periods at a time. I hate seeing my patients while I'm in pain and agony myself...

    Imuran question

The issue with Imuran is that it can cause your white blood cells to crash, thus creating a perfect storm for infection (while at the same time lowering your body's defense and inflammation, which is why this drug works so well with Crohn's). It is a good idea to have your blood checked...

I think my Imuran has stopped working. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have been on Aza for almost 2 years now. My GI explained to me that Aza can take MONTHS to start working, which is why many docs put you on a prednisone (or other steroid) taper in the beginning weeks of being on it. Aza has been linked with certain cancers (mainly leukemia) which is why you...

    Alleviation of flare-up symptoms

Uggghh the diarrhea. Yes. I live in the bathroom. But my pain is my biggest concern. I can't eat anything. I don't have sick time at work so I can't call in. I'm sufferring 12 hours a day at work and I just don't know what to do. It's been a long time since my last flare. I used to take...

    Alleviation of flare-up symptoms

I started on Entocort and Pentasa before I started Aza. I have pred on hand but I haven't called my GI to tell him about this yet. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had some "magic" trick that has helped. I heard that ginger is a good anti-inflammartory. *sigh* I guess if there was a magic...

I haven't talked to my GI since the flare began. I have been off pred since February. I'm thinking of taking some though, I always have it on hand. I do take calcium with D (sublingual because I am not absorbing it orally). My potassium also keeps crashing to 2.7-3.0.

Hi AB! I have been on Aza for almost 24 months. I started it in December 2010 and tapered down on Prednisone from 60mg. The Aza was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. I am now having a flare. My diet has dwindled down to no meat, no milk/ice cream (occasional yogurt/chesse), no raw veggies...

    Help!

I know that everyone is different, however, I'm wondering what other people do during a Crohn's flare-up to alleviate symptoms. I am currently doing a full liquid diet and drinking lots of water but it's not doing anything. I'm on 150mg of Aza and PRN Percocet for pain (which I'm not taking now...

Hi there! My name is Megan. I am 26 and was dx with CD in June 2008. I started on Pentasa for about 2 years before realizing that I am allergic to it (no wonder my pain and symptoms were WORSE after starting it!) I am currently on 150mg of Azathioprine, but I am regularly on prednisone tapers...
