I haven't tried anything yet because of the NSAIDS thing all I have is ibuprofen gel, the pain comes and goes seemingly whenever, it's been bad the last two days though.

    Diclofenac Sodium for the pain....?

He said it would be urgent... Then again I saw him on Wednesday and as of today he hasn't written the referral yet, I have blood tests next Tuesday and I should be able to get a copy of my referral letter then (apparently), I've been told it will be an urgent case and I will hear something...

    Diclofenac Sodium for the pain....?

Official - doctor is crazy. Just had a conversation with him on the phone where he tries to explain how anti-inflammatories work - I KNOW HOW THEY WORK!!! I also know that if my belly/arm/eye issues are IBD related I SHOULDN'T BE TAKING THEM! Apparently he is writing my referral letter today, am...

    Diclofenac Sodium for the pain....?

Right have arranged to speak to my GP tomorrow morning supposedly... He's a bit difficult to understand though so here's hoping I get some clarity... If not I'm meant to have an urgent referral within the next fortnight, so here's hoping that comes through quickly enough that I can ignore these...

    Diclofenac Sodium for the pain....?

Thanks Sarah - unfortunately speaking to my GP is going to be like panning for gold, so I'll probably get the prescription anyway and just take the lansoprazole for the stomach problems... I have been getting a croaky voice on and off (more after I drink something warm) is that a normal acid...

    Diclofenac Sodium for the pain....?

He's given me Lanzoprazole at the same time I just realised that's some sort of stomach acid product... is this to counteract the bad effects of the diclofenac sodium? I'm going to pick up the prescription today but I'm really unsure as to whether I should take this stuff :-/

    Diclofenac Sodium for the pain....?

I'm undiagnosed. Another doctors appointment, this time he sat with me for over 30 minutes, poked an prodded and went through every single symptom I've had... Then said 'it definitely sounds like inflammatory bowel, but your stomach isn't very tender' Then prescribed me diclofenac sodium for...

    Referral timeframes?

Thanks Sophie I really hope so, I just want to be able to stay strong and have a bit more hope for the future.

    Referral timeframes?

My mum was also a non smoker, and she doesn't know that I'm a smoker or any of my history of drugs etc, so my fear of cancer is significantly higher than hers, and I'm taking a significant amount of blame on my own shoulders for whatever it is I've got wrong with me.

    Referral timeframes?

My mum was 38, doubled over in agony one day, and within six weeks had a full permanent colostomy fitted, so she's on a bit of a different wavelength. Also she's quite distressed at the thought that I've got it, so I'm trying to avoid talkin seriously about it with her.

    Referral timeframes?

And yeah Sophie once I get the letter, or if I don't get the letter within two weeks, I will be hounding, am really not doing very well coping :(

    Referral timeframes?

Thanks Sophie... I'm 24 :( yeah history of IBD, my mum has CD. I'd really rather it be nothing but I think it's been too long to hope for that, of just like some answers and reassurance now. Thanks all for your help :)

    Referral timeframes?

Thank you, I know my situation isn't very bad compared to many on here, I'm only having BMs 6 times a day if I eat normally, and mostly I've just got no appetite or interest in eating, but it's frustrating and I'm scared, I have a great support network but it's difficult because my social life...

    Referral timeframes?

Oh and not to mention the 'fuck I hope it's not cancer' and the crying about four times a day every day, including the rather embarrassing bit where I'm commuting to work in tears...

    Referral timeframes?

Hey My doctor claims that they're going to refer me to the gastro once my blood tests results come through, expected sometime this week as I'm having the blood test tomorrow. Does anyone have an idea on estimated timeframes for this in the UK? I know they can vary... Just I've lost 14lbs in...

Just diagnosed with ileitis had symptoms for years please help!

Moose I'm here in the UK and while I am as yet undiagnosed, my Mum has had Crohn's for over 20 years and she has had some amazing treatment and really good doctors and nurses, luckily we still live in the area of the hospital she was initially treated at, so I've asked for my referral to go...

After 10 days I've been referred... *game face*

Thanks guys - unfortunately I'm stressing myself out through the roof, I now wake up in the middle of the night shaking and crying convinced that it's going to be a terminal cancer of some sort. My bowels can't make up their mind, and I'm trying to convince myself that if I calm down I'll feel...

After 10 days I've been referred... *game face*

For two weeks I've had sore eyes, and 10 days I've had D... A chat with my doctor about the eyes and the presence of mucus - oh and the family history (Mum, crohns, full colostomy), I've been referred to the hospital and am having blood tests next week... It's time to stop crying and start...

It started out bad, now it looks much worse...

I really really hope it's not an IBD. I'm hoping so much for some irritation caused by antibiotics and non-stop hysteria. I'm really really hoping for that.
