@Sarah2000, I am sorry to hear what your mother and you had to endure. I have taken Imuran for a year and just stopped it ~1 month ago. I am currently on Humira only. I got a blood test many times just to make certain everything is okay. I do feel better w/o Imuran. :cool:

I been getting lots of burps whenever my stomach is empty. Never really had that until I started Imuran. Also, it feels like I am much hungrier too. Did anyone else experience this?

I havent really spent any time outside in the sun though, especially not with my back exposed and my skin isnt red

Anyone experience sore like as if you had a sun burn skin? Feeling it in different places like back of neck, my back, knee. Only been taking Imuran for 3 days of 125mg. Is this a side effect or something else? :-(

Yeah I was planning on talking to my GI, but wanted to get the forum's opinion on the matter. I think it's the common prescription to take Xmg where X <= your weight in pounds?

I weigh 130lb, and my dr put me on 125mg of Imuran. However, my CD is very mild so does it make sense for me to be taking this much or could I thrive on like 50-75mg?

Question regarding the blood tests, can they tell that you may be at risk of skin cancer w/ them? I've scared myself now reading about some people that developed skin cancer after taking Imuran for a long time. :(

bambam, did you go out in the sun a lot during the 12 years on imuran?

I have just started taking Imuran and felt a bit spaced out (125mg dose). It last about 30-45 mins then decreased. Today, 2nd day, I did not feel spaced out yet.

I just got home from work and ate some baked apples/pears that my wife made. About 5 mins after I got nauseous and had to throw up once. Is it common to have this with Imuran? I never had that happen before.

Took my first dose, straight away as GI recommended 125mg since I already was on it a year ago. Felt a bit warm and kind of difficult to focus. Mild side effects which I do not remember the first time around when I started taking Imuran a year ago (for 4 months) but it was a gradual increase...

7vNH: I believe I took Lansoprazole (Prevacid) for it. I was having symptoms like nausea in my throat but not actually having to throw up, just a funky feeling. I told my doctor and he got me tested for H.Pylori and when it came back positive, he prescribed Prevacid, which was disgusting to take...
