Little Pilgrim moves to 3rd Biologic

We'll cross that bridge when the time comes! I've read studies that show returning to an anti-tnf can be effective- so possibly!

Little Pilgrim moves to 3rd Biologic

Yes! Last scope showed her inflammation in her colon. It has been in so many different locations over the past 10 years of scopes! None in her TI last scope. She has stopped Stelara so the question is...is this whack-a-mole? Will Entyvio help in her colon and then Crohn's reemerges in her TI or...

Little Pilgrim moves to 3rd Biologic

Thanks! We have done SCD in the past (didn't help her) and CDED (helped my other child with Crohn's immensely). She responds to six week courses of EEN very positively but she just can't do another round at this time psychologically. Fortunately we are starting to see improvement with Entyvio...

Little Pilgrim moves to 3rd Biologic

Seeing some improvement. 3rd loading dose coming up in about a week. The infusion can be done at our local hospital which is great and the infusion is about 30 minutes. She is also seeing joint pain reduced - her joint pain is tied to her Crohn's as far as we know. She is rocking high school...

Little Pilgrim moves to 3rd Biologic

H has done several 6 week EEN runs over the years and this time she told me she just couldn't do it. Her growth is on track, but we are waiting for her large panel of labs to address any deficiencies. Results should be in next week.

We'll be patient if she isn't struggling too much. What ended up helping you? Or are you still looking for the right med?

Little Pilgrim moves to 3rd Biologic

Hello my friends! This week H moved to her 3rd biologic. Humira age 4-10, Stelara ages 10-13, and this week she started Entyvio. Stelara was at 90mg/4weeks with a reloading infusion dose not too many months ago. Her fcal rose and stayed around 1500 before and after the reloading infusion so it...

    Mercaptopurine/Adalimumab

Starting a few hours after her dose of Azathioprine she would wake up in pain, after a bit it would subside. But it happened several nights running with increasing pain each night until it was excruciating pain. Emergency level pain.

    Mercaptopurine/Adalimumab

My daughter developed pancreatitis from Azathioprine (similar to 6mp). She had high amylase but it wasn't caught until after the attacks of pancreatitis. No child should go through that. Maybe a move to methotrexate would work for him.

First anti-stricture therapy and fast track designation by the FDA

@my little penguin Thanks for the clarification! That makes more sense to me.

First anti-stricture therapy and fast track designation by the FDA

I've never seen the 75% stricture outcome stat. That's discouraging. Glad there is a proposed treatment.

Skyrizi Beats Stelara in Several Key Factors in Head-to-Head Comparison Trial

I should add that insurance coverage can play a part in drug selection because sometimes your insurer will want to see certain drugs tried first before they will pay for coverage on more expensive medications.

Skyrizi Beats Stelara in Several Key Factors in Head-to-Head Comparison Trial

I think that GI's have a typical pattern for biologics based on what has been used the longest and had the most evidence supporting it's probability for inducing remission. There isn't anything wrong with your doctor starting you on Skyrizi, and if it stops working he may very well try you on a...

    Stelara Frequency

@my little penguin Lefluminide is another idea! H had pancreatitis from AZATHIOPRINE years ago. I will keep my eyes open for more info on the drug in the near future.

    Stelara Frequency

Thanks @Maya142 ! That is a very positive anecdote. This forum is so great because it is both the research and the personal experience that people offer that help us roll around options. H was much the same although we mostly dealt with injections due to her GI preference. It was 4-6 weeks of...

    Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

OK. This is not specifically a Crohn's thing but an older sib of my 2 Crohn's kids has just been diagnosed with this. I have heard it bandied about around here. I know there are parents who will tell me much. Please send anecdotes and info. She is 16, was basically crippled from a tiny...
