    Questran & meal times?

Colestryamine has been a lifesver for me. Not as good as the colestid I was on before but that's been discontinued. I take a sachet first thing in the morning so my breakfast "lands on top of it" so to speak. If things aren't great I take 1.5 or 2 sachets. Because you can't mix some other meds...

    Covid vaccine 3rd dose?

I've found some very up to date data which covers the delta variant. These numbers are from the NZ government health site: https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-data-and-statistics/covid-19-case-demographics#aug-2021 The data is from...

    Covid vaccine 3rd dose?

I assume you're using the "60% of serious cases" to prove that you're more likey to end up in hospital if you're vaxed? Of course what that data really says that in a country where 90% is vaccinated, the 10% that isn't is causing 40% of serious cases. Think about that for a minute please...

    Stricture, Poor Diet, Healthy Ideas?

I can also recommend soups. That's pretty much my only way to get some veggies. Easy to make; stock cube (or bone broth), water, courgette or parsnip (or whatever veg you like that isn't too fibrous), a potato (thickens the soup so it feels like you're eating something) and a clove of garlic if...

Water intake, should I be drinking more or less?

Yes, I've been told to check the colour too and it's usually pale. I'm sure I'm drinking enough!

Water intake, should I be drinking more or less?

Hi, I'm exactly the same as you and am just as conflicted . I drink a similar amount of tea and water as you also attribute the headaches to dehydration because that's how they feel and they go away when I hydrate. In my case the headache is definitely not from caffeine withdrawal as...

    New to forum...looking for help

Yes it is. I have blockages too and was hospitalised for a week after an CT-enterography because of the Metamucil contrast they needed for that, which caused another blockage. If you can get one with a more suitable contrast like milk, a CT enterography might also be an option. But I know...

    Silent Crohn's disease

The link doesn't work for me, I just get an error page. And after trying a few more times it did, strange.

Had to stop Humira, possible Heart Issue anyone else? What can I expect from abrupt stop?

Sorry this is happening to you. I don't have heart issues afaik so no help there but I did stop humira after being on weekly shots. It made no difference at all, it's not like prednisone where you have to taper. Humira wasn't helping me anymore so when I quit there was no difference. If it was...

    Weird pain

Your symptoms sound very much like an obstruction, terrible pain, possible nausea and vomiting and lots of relief when you have a bowel movement. That's exactly how it goes when I have an obstruction. When I start to vomit it's the sign to go to hospital. Ask your gastro if you have strictures...

    False Crohn's diagnosis?

I feel your pain! But keep at it, you will find a GI that you can work with. I would change from this one though. I have been diagnosed with UC a long time ago and then had a clear colonscopy with a different doctor while having symptoms so got the IBS label (and no meds). I wasn't feeling...

    Experiencing excessive air

Emiliy, I find I get excessive air, especially burping, when I have (partial) blockages. My bloods are fine at the moment but I had lots of burping episodes recently and a colonoscopy showed new stricturing. So with your history of rupturing I do think you need to discuss this with your...

Infliximab and debilitating joint pain? (also advice on dealing with doctors)

I can't be of much help with the joint pain, mine doesn't travel and is helped somewhat by using fish oil. Maybe worth a shot? I notice a difference in about a week after taking 2 1500mg capsules a day. I though Remicade is the brand name for Infliximab? So that shouldn't be making any difference.

Can you eat mushrooms without getting GI problems?

They don't give me real problems, they just don't digest. Because they're soft they don't cause too much trouble on the way out:D

    Diarrhea

What about psyllium? It can be a very effective stool thickener provided you don't suffer from strictures. Take it before meals and about 2 hours either side of meds.

    Glasses

    Euthanasia

Please don't confuse suicide with euthanasia. I agree that suicide is awful especially for those left behind, and usually a very lonely thing. Euthanasia is anything but lonely. It is a very well considered choice for terminal people, overseen by professionals to make sure there is no coercion...

    Euthanasia

I absolutely would consider it and want to have the choice which we don't have yet here. Thankfully the discussion is being had currently. My MIL (in Europe) chose euthanasia and was very happy that she had the option.

Savings Card, as low as $5

And to add that these programs also only apply to the US usually. I haven't heard of any outside the US.

    Travelling with Humira

The one Humira supplies only does about 4 hours so no good for long flights. I travelled to Europe with about 6 syringes and used a better one that I got from Australia. Can't remember the brand and it didn't quite manage 24 hours but kept it cool enough. I booked a stopover in Asia with a...
