    Shelf life of entocort

Hello All! I'll ask hubs GI next month but just wondering if you all knew the shelf life of entocort? He has a bottle we got in Jan that we keep in case he flares during travel and it says it expires in June? But I googled it and it said 36 months as long as stored properly (no heat, damp etc)...

    Husbands inflammation results

Haha! Yea he said insurance will not approve stelara without trying a cheaper biologic 1st (of course 🙄) but he said he's used it for TI crohns fit a few years now and it's done very well, he said the biggest thing is a lot of people are actively flaring when they're put on it and so they cant...

    Husbands inflammation results

Thanks for the reply! No his old GI never did calpro 🤦‍♀️ new GI did it immediately and said he will have them done every 6 months to a year. His disease is limited to a small section of his TI. But new GI said entivyo is now being used for all areas of the gut. He said it takes longer to feel...

    Interesting article

https://www.gastroenterologyandhepatology.net/archives/october-2021/update-on-the-use-of-vedolizumab-in-patients-with-crohns-disease/ Thoughts others might appreciate this. Hubs chose Entivyo as his 1st biologic because his GI felt similarly to what this article stated, May do best if chosen...

    Husbands inflammation results

So my husband got all his inflammation tests back from New GI. All bloodwork was normal and ESR and SED rate were all also normal (one was actually below normal doc said, said that was great) and his fecal calprotectin test was 69. They said anything under 60 is normal. His doc was blown away by...

    A little confused

Thanks so much!! He did say if he needed surgery it would be such a small area it wouldn't impact his life, but no need to take it unless problems occur. My husband Aunt also has Crohns and had a major operation with tons of strictures and a lot of complications so that always sits in my mind...

    A little confused

Ok thanks! I appreciate your response! Do you know of people who've lived with strictures for some time without issues? He told me it's very possible but also said "most have about 3 surgeries in their lifetime with Crohns". He also said hes been using Entivyo for small bowel crohns for years...

    A little confused

So me and hubs saw his new GI today in person (we've seen his NP and talked to him over email etc and he's ordered all the tests) and to be honest I feel a little confused and nervous to a degree. First off he said he does have a few strictures and they're fibrotic not just inflammation (old GI...

    Hubs starts entyvio tmrw

It went great! No side effects and they did not dose with benadryl first either. The infusion center was so nice and his nurse was an old ER nurse so she was very knowledgeable. Goes back in 2 weeks, then 4, then 8. Thank you so much for checking!!

    Hubs starts entyvio tmrw

Hello Everyone! My husband starts his induction dose of entyvio tomorrow, I am both excited and nervous. Just looking for any experiences with side effects, what to expect? He's been on mercaptopurine for almost 5 years (goal is to be off in 6 months) and he's never had any physical side...

    Help for my dad

Thanks so much as always! They couldn't explain the blood loss but said nothing was seen so wasn't worried?? Even though it keeps happening. 🤷‍♀️ he hasn't had one with entography, that's one test I recommend he ask for. Keeping a food log is a good idea, not sure why I didn't think of that. And...

    Help for my dad

Hello All, Everyone here has been so helpful with my hubs I'm hoping someone can give some insight/advice about my dad. About 15 months ago my dad started having severe debilitating abdominal pain that brought him to his knees for days at a time and eventually landed him in the hospital for...

    Update about my hubs

Oh. We also found that his doc had been prescribing entocort way wrong 🤦‍♀️ his old doc always said to take it for like 4 or 5 days for a flare. Well new doc found out and about flipped haha. She said no no...you taper and treat it like you do pred. Thankfully he hasn't needed it in almost 5...
