Ive baffled my doctors - please help

The sore knees - strange. Have you been checked for any types of arthritis? What's interesting is sulfasalazine is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis as well. Hopefully the scope will tell all and you'll get a firm diagnosis so you can get straightened out once and for all.

Reason why 1 treatment given over another by Dr?

My pills are enteric coated and cannot be crushed. They are 500 mg each. Because she's so young and small, things may be very different, I really don't know.

Reason why 1 treatment given over another by Dr?

Hi. I take 3000 mg a day, 2 x 500 mg coated tablet three times a day. Started with one a day and slowly upped it to six. I sometimes take eight when I'm in a flare-up (and I remember to) to hopefully help. I don't find this stuff affects my appetite at all (unfortunately!!)

    Sulfasalazine

Anyone else taking Sulfasalazine? I have been taking it for years and generally it works fine. Last time I had a flare-up was about a year ago. Unfortunately, I'm having a flare-up now and, for the first time in years, since I was diagnosed, actually, I'm seeing blood in my stool at times...

    Asacol/Pentasa....does it work?

I've been taking Sulfasalazine for years now and find it helps me tremendously. If I get sick (other sick) and forget to take any pills for a couple days, I feel the Crohn's coming back with a vengeance.

    Imodium/loperamide question

I recently discovered Immodium and find it helps a lot. I still get gas but at least during flare-ups it allows me to not go constantly. I am still going and am not stopped up or bound up so I'm very glad to have found it. If it did stop me up to the point I was needing a laxative, I'd not take...
