    Surgery for my UC? Didnt think i was there yet...

    I am going to try pigworms, fecal transplant, and whatever else there is before surgery should I come to that... just starting imuran today so my body is trying to get rid of my colon it appears... Try it all before you remove the tube.

    Blood work came in negative.

    No, no blood at all in my stool, I guarantee that! I have been persistently checking my bowel movements for such. Test results show my body is making a ton of new Red Blood Cells as well. Anyone try Liquid Chlorophyll or Carao (no pulp)?? for Anemia?

    So, on prednisone to stop my colitis, working like magic, no blood leaving body, feel good (100% better than 3 weeks ago when my blood hemoglobin was 9.7 G/L -- supposed to be 14 or so).     Well, have had this UC for 20 years and no problems really ever, was on asacal 6 x 400, upped to 6 x 800 last year due to disease creeping it's way up the ladder. Sudden massive attack this spring -- went on Prednisone 50 mg/25 mg next week etc.... did it's magic. 4 weeks after that, kaboom...

    Medication to control bleeding

    I never realized how good we have it in Canada not having to worry about any expenses. The most I ever pay for medications is $25.00, not matter the actual cost of them. Good luck, having to concern yourself with bills is brutal.

    Low dose of Pred. What should I expect?

    I am on my third round of pred this year -- start at 50 first week, then down to 25 next week, 20, 15, 10, then 5. So far after my 1st day it has done it's magic. I want off this darn stuff though!! Doc says Imuran if this doesn't work, I don't want to go on Imuran, anyone use it?
