    Gluten free begins.

If your kidlet is pining for goldfish crackers, you could try the Annie's Homegrown gluten free bunny crackers? I'm not sure if you have the brand available to you, but they do an awesome Mac and cheese too which the kids might appreciate. :) going gluten free was the best thing I ever did for...

    Scared

I think the 50 mg pills are the smallest dose Imuran comes in - but your dose is standard. :) there's a formula they use to calculate the max dose based on your weight, but I can't remember it right now. It seems that most people take one or two pills a day. Also a fun fact to consider: they use...

    Scared

Hi Vickie! I went through the exact same thing back in March when my GI doctor told me he'd like me to start Aza/Imuran. I was waffling a lot because I was't sure what going on it would mean for me. The best thing I can tell you, after freaking myself put about the side effects, is to remind...

Increased dose causing me to throw up - will it stop?

I didn't know they made 25 mg tablets actually! Good to know! And sorry to hear you missed out on the cake! I'm glad you're feeling better though. :) Gravol - I'm not sure what they market it as in the UK (?) but it's a common anti nauseant. They use it for motion sickness and boy does it make...

Increased dose causing me to throw up - will it stop?

I actually had some nausea and vomiting with the 50mg! Yes, it will go away - but I agree about splitting your dose and taking it with food (maybe one at breakfast, one at dinner). If you're getting nausea at bed time, you can take a gravol before bed like I ended up doing. I'm a little nervous...

    Hesitant about going on Imuran...

Hey hey! I just finished week two on Imuran, and so far so good, mostly. I've still been having more diarrhea than usual, but I think it's getting a little better. I had achey joints that I thought were from gardening, but they lasted far too long for that, so I think they were a slight side...

Yeppers, I'm a Newbie to the Aza/Imuran Club

Wow that sucks! But they really threw you off if the deep end if the Imuran pool! I thought they started with a low dose and worked up every few weeks by 50 or 100 mg at a time! Thats what my doctors have me doing right now - I've just finished my second week if Aza at 50 mg, and I think I've...

    Hesitant about going on Imuran...

Hey guys! Thanks for sharing your positive stories! Things are already starting to get better. :) Most of my side effects have gone away after the one really rough night. I ended up talking to my GI doctor the next day and he wanted me to keep taking it until we at least do the first blood test...

    Hesitant about going on Imuran...

Okay, so tonight I took my fourth dose of Imuran, and 3 out of 4 times I seem to have gotten diarrhea about 20 minutes later. :( Its not the worst side effect I've ever had from a pill - more of an inconvenience- but if it continues, it's fair to say that the side effects are worse than my...

    Hesitant about going on Imuran...

Hey! I just thought I'd updated you guys on what's happening - I just took my first dose of AZA (with food!). I'm starting on 50mg, and the GI doctor wants me to go up to 100 later on. I have my first blood test in a week, but the doctor still have to communicate with eachother about how often I...

    Hesitant about going on Imuran...

Hawkeye - it's really reassuring to hear from people who have been on it for so long with no side effects! So, another question I just thought of - does anyone wear a medic alert bracelet or some kind of medical ID because you're immunosuppressed? I've been wondering about this one!

    Hesitant about going on Imuran...

Hi everyone! I want to thank you all for taking the time to reply - it's been very helpful! :) I went to my family doctor yesterday to get more info, and see what his thoughts were on me taking Imuran. So now I have two doctors who think I should give it a try. He assured me that any most side...

    Hesitant about going on Imuran...

Hi everyone! This is my first post, but I'm feeling overwhelmed with making decisions about taking a medication, and need some outside views! Just some history: I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease two years ago, when I went into the hospital with an obstruction, micro perforation and fistula...
