10 days on Imuran update.

So many have been helpful here. I wanted to give an update. Eddie has been on Imuran for 10 days. He will have his first labs here Saturday. So far no side effects. Eddie has gained 8lbs. He has an increased appetite. He is waking up easier in the morning. He started a 2 days a week lifting program at school for football and has had no issues. He was also able to finish the grading period strong after missing a lot a school for the Crohn's testing and got all A's. We feel blessed. Thank you all.

Just be sure that he keeps getting his bloodwork checked regularly. I started imuran and was improving but after 3 weeks I had a turn for the worse. (I was a week away from my first bloodtest to see how I was doing on it). I ended up getting a stool infection which inflamed my bowls and destroyed all of my progress on recovering. The imuran tanked my white bloodcell count and I was in so much pain I was in tears...and I don't cry. I hope and pray that your son does not have to go through what I did. I've had to stop imuran and I'm playing the waiting game on starting new treatment.

He just finished his fourth week on Imuran. He had his second set of blood test. So far so good. He has had one side effect. When he is overtired and goes to be late he will wake up with night sweats. Thanks to all.
