13 year old daughter has crohns

Hi there, my daughter was diagnosed with chrones oct of 2010. She is on 6mp mercocaptopurine. Is having severe sweeling in her knees when she participates in pe at school. Rheumatologist is suggesting humira 40mg injections but needed a neg tb test which my daughter shows positive and has been treated for a year with antibiotics. Anyone tb pos w neg chest xrays doing 6mp and humira?

Hi there and welcome As your daughter was going through diagnosis of Crohn's Disease, was she tested for TB at that time? When was she specifically tested and has she been specifically evaluated for intestinal TB?

she tested pos for tb when she was 2 yrs old and did 9 months of antibiotics. so they said we need a clear chest xray. so we got chest xray tday. waiting on results. did no know int tb existed thought it was a lung disease??????

It's usually lungs but can be in the intestines as well: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19623062 and some more good info.

But I guess if she had TB when she was young, it's probably just the antibodies from back then. Sorry for the trouble with that!

she was admitted to tx chldrns in oct 2010 we were there ten days they did mri catscan colonoscopy and endoscopy. chrones was diagnosis they did a ppd skin test and said it was positive had one done friday at pediatrician and its neg but they still want chest xrays before the rheumatologist will give her humira injections for joint pain in knees. i will ask her pedi about intestinal tb.................thx
