2nd time on Prednisone..2nd time yeast infection!

Hi ladies I'm newly diagonsed in may this year. 1st treatment involved 2month taper of prednisone. At the end I got my first bad yeast infection. Did monistst3 and it cleared up most of it. Found out at agyno appt a month ago while on 2nd treatment of prednisone it wasn't fully cleared up so I did flagyl and it helped.

I'm getting off my 2nd treatment of prednisone and now I have another damn yeast infection! Gonna do monistat 3 again til I can get to the doctor this Saturday.

Is this normal????

Also worth mentioning I had sex twice, once before the 1st taper ended and 2nd this weekend during my 2nd taper end bith times with with the same guy.

Tested for stds last month and I'm fine. I think its the meds because my sex drive is very low on it.

Can anyone relate and offer advice??

I think I used to get them while on Prednisone long term. It's been a long time but I do recall getting them before my surgery. Wondering if Entocort would reduce your risk of getting them?

I can totally relate! I'm also on 6MP in addition to predisone. Last time monistat wasn't working so I went to the doctor and got flagyl. It actually took two doses of that to clear it up. The doctor says it is common with people taking immunosuppresants.

yeah. monistat cleared some of it up, but today I got a prescription for difulcan to help with the remainder. Thankfully i am now off of the pred and hopefully after the difulcan things will start to clear up and go back to normal...
