so i finally bit the bullet and bought some 5,000 mcg methyl b12 lozensges to see how they make me feel. I wanted the sublingual ones, and was told tht lozenses are always sublingual...however the directions on the product description say to CHEW OR dissolve lozenze under tongue. how can u chew a sublingual? i WILL link to the product i purchased.

Sublingual just refers to where you place the lozenge, rather than a specific type of tablet. Chewable tablets/ lozenges will dissolve easily in the mouth, therefore any chewable tablets could theoretically be taken sublingually. Regular swallow whole tablets are usually coated to prevent them dissolving in the mouth, and make them easier to swallow, so are not suitable for taking sublingually. Hope that clears it up a bit for you! Oh, and if you're taking 5000mcg at a time, research suggests that it doesn't matter whether you take the supplement sublingually or chew it, enough will get into your body to treat any deficiency (I think there's a link on the wiki www.crohnsforum.com/wiki/vitamin-b12 )
