Has anyo ne out there fathered or mothered children while taking 6mp? if so, please comment.

I haven't but my doctor says that if I decide to have kids, to stop the medicine when trying to get pregnant. Ive also read online about it and there is really no data that shows it would have any negative effect but its one of those better safe then sorry type things.
Talk to your doc about it. He might be able to put you on another med until your done trying to have a child.

I'm on Imuran which is similar to 6 MP and have the same concern as you. It seems nobody is sure about this even the doctors. But I found the below site and it mentions:
Azathioprine may cause miscarriage or birth defects. Female patients should generally not become pregnant while taking azathioprine (there are rare exceptions to this guideline) and must use reliable contraceptive measures to prevent this. Male patients should wait three months after stopping azathioprine before having children as it can affect the quality and/or amount of sperm
So when I want to father a child I will take the risk and stop the Imuran. Good Luck
