cipro weakens achiellies tendons and ruptures them. i found out the hard way, now in a cast for 6 months trying to avoid surgury. in 2008, class action law suit against bayer pharaceutical. my doctor failed to mention this to me, but attorney did/ now, move ahead legally, but be warned. its all over the net. good luck if your on this crap, but i am done. just pentassa now and hopefully a settlemet for negligence in the future. peace

Yeah I read about this after the fact. Lucky for me I havent needed it for a few years and I never had this problem. That and all the fluoride in it is just toxic. Sorry it happened to you.

Hey Maxi - well that sucks! I have heard those warnings. If I remember correctly, I was on it a few years ago for a week or two. No problem luckily. And now that I am "cured", I have been running like a madman - with no problems. I hope there is a limit on how long any potential problems might pop up.

good luck with your leg - and your lawsuit.

Hi Maxi - I am so sorry this happened!!!

The same goes for Levaquin, which is in the same class of drug.

I started to have twinges in my achilles from the Levaquin and quit taking it immediately. When I told my doc, he had NEVER HEARD OF THE WARNING on these drugs. WTF???? I was shocked.

Hope you are able to heal completely and get some legal compensation as well.

Good luck - Amy

Oh my gosh! I did not know this. That is really good information to have.

So sorry you had this problem. I hope you heal up quickly and completely.

I took Cipro for 20 days, twice a day and it gave me prickly stinging all over my chest and arms. It was awful. Went off it and back to normal, so far!
