Today I was talking to my dad about Crohn's and school, and I mentioned the possibility of having to leave in the middle of class if I had to go to the bathroom. He was being very helpful and supportive until somehow we got on the topic of having accidents. Then he looked at me and went, "You mean you've actually had an accident?" And so after I picked my jaw up off the floor I actually had a debate with my family over whether or not crohn's diarrhea is worse than regular diarrhea. It's almost funny, but at the same time I can't really believe this even happened.

I think its worse, but many of us have had it for so long we don't acknowledge it anymore. When my fiancee has diarrhea she says it hurts and is like runny but somewhat thick and creamy (if that makes sense). When I have diarrhea its like turning on a fire hose.

LOL too much information?

I am glad i am not the only one that has accidents!! Its not our fault!! Its embarrassing at the time but can make for some good stories if you learn to laugh about it!

I've had a few myself. My poor husband had to be there for one or two of them even. Once my husband had an accident in the car himself and admitted that he had a little bit of an idea of how I feel. Got to admit that I do tear up a bit when I do have an accident because it is embarrassing...

Crohn's diarrhea is so much worse! KWalker, that is exactly how it feels! I had a few accidents during a few of the worse flares I had. It is embarrassing but its not our fault. Unfortunately, I don't think its possible to explain to friends or family without being judged. Luckily, we all managed to find this forum where we can talk freely!

It's absolutely worse. It's not just the D itself, it's also the urgency with which it wants to come out!!! It gives you 10.2 seconds to get your butt to the toilet.
Anyone who hasn't dealt with it just doesn't understand the severity of it. And no matter how 'used to it' you get it's always embarrassing but you can always come tell us about it!!!
