a question about SCD and metabolism

Hey all,
I have started the SC diet, and have been on it a couple of weeks. It seems it has been working nicely. However I have a question about a person's metabolism while they are on this diet. On any diet (this one, atkins etc...) the lack of eating products which contain fat leads to a decrease in metabolism. Does anyone notice that with the SCD? Has it slowed down at all? I want to stay healthy and not cheat, however I don't want to butcher my metabolism (which is not that great to start with) either. Dieters suggest picking one day and eating "bad" foods that day to trick your body. That sounds like a really good idea, but I don't want to cheat or anything. Does anyone have this problem/any suggestions?

Thank you.

eta- I'm not trying this diet to loose weight rather than to feel better, but when it comes to eating normally again, or more advanced stages I don't want to gain without effort either

Hi already. I have not started the SCD diet, but I did just finish reading the book. I guess I missed the part about restricting fats....?? The recipe does say to skim the fat from the chicken when you are making broth, but I didn't see anything about restricting fats. There are recipes for mayonnaise, salad dressings with oil, and I have seen people recommending taking coconut oil. There are certain oils that they recommend that you not use because they are grain based. I am not sure what I am missing on this one. The main things restricted, from what I read, is carbohydrates not consumed in fruits, vegetables or honey. The main "enemy" is grain and processed foods. Maybe I am missing something.
