Does anybody's abdominal cramps get worse right after eating. I am afraid to eat because I know I will be in agonizing pain immediately. I also then have to go D as well shortly after eating. It is soooo frustrating because I cannot find a doctor that is willing to help me with my symptoms.

log the foods you are eating and symptoms and see if there is a correlation. My husband can go to a restaurant and if they put corn starch in the sauce (over fish, for example...vesuvio..), he will be running to the bathroom. I would eat steak and be bent over, turning white, at the table. Certain foods would stick in my gut and not move; thus causing unbearable cramps. I would have to do belly rubs to get over them. Works like a charm, but takes a while to get accustomed to. I found digestive enzymes help with eating. Of course, eating healthy foods and drinks (no diet drinks, sodas, etc>) made a huge diference in health. Feel better!

Docs can be trying! I had mine tell me all I had to do was eat a sandwich (for fiber) and that would fix the Crohns! ...and the planet on which he lives? Sometimes you have to search for the right doc...good luck!

Hi Surfergirl,

Although I agree with the above posts about certain foods making it worse, I have found that sometimes no matter what I eat or drink (can happen just after water sometimes) I will get horrific cramps.

I would get yourself a heat pad for a hot water bottle for when the pain strikes.

Hope you manage to see a doc soon

Yep! I get in pain from eating. My doctor gave me Colpamine. Not sure if it helps or not to be honest..

I have tried excluding foods. But EVERYTHING makes it worse. I went coeliac for 3 months, and still, I was poorly! Even water hurts at night.

Heat pad on your tummy is all I can suggest really.

Thanks for helping guys. There are no foods that make it worse or better. Today I had an apple and an hour later I was in agonizing pain and going to the bathroom. I have also have had sweating problems on and off for the last year. Does anyone sweat a lot...sometime I feel like I am having menopausal hot flashes, although I am only 24 so I know it's not menopause.

I'm sick right now i can't even stand up straight i hate it and it is putting me in a depression it sucks bad i just did get out of the hospital i can't even drink water without being sick .I just want to be normale again..

Hey surfer girl, a lot of us find fruit and veggies can cause major stomach pain when we are in a flare (which it definitely sounds like you are). Try eating very easily digestible foods. My safe foods are things like plain white rice, canned pumpkin soup, white crackers etc. but everyone is different. Maybe you could try some Ensure or something like that just to get some vitamins in you, lots of people seem to go onto that when their symptoms get really bad. I also agree with ormsklad that buscopan can work wonders for cramps if you can get your hands on it.

me!

are you on steroids at all? When I was on Prednisolone I would sweat like there's no tomorrow. Also had those hot flushes a lot where my face would go bright red and I'd have to go outside to cool down (embarrassing when you're at work!).

Does the sweating happen when you are in pain? It sounds like the sweating might be a symptom of the pain. It sounds like you are flaring. Pain even after drinking water is not normal! surfergirl32, are you on any meds for your Crohns?
