Hi all. Just looking for some experience and thoughts -

About 2 and a half years ago I started having upper abdominal pain about an hour-hour and a half after eating high fiber foods (made this connection later). My GI originally thought biliary dyskinesia as after HIDA scan my EF was 20%. I decided to hold off on gallbladder removal and try and modify diet.
This however did not work and I find myself having 'attacks' more frequently. A couple months ago GI suggested this could be a stricture, as pushing on the spot helps a lot, and then I hear a lot of gurgling in my gut and this usually leads to relief of pain. However, all testing (MRE, patency capsule) shows that I do not have a stricture.
I heard from my GI today who now says that this must be an adhesion on the outside of the bowel, which leads to it getting kinked around when I eat high residue foods and causes partial bowel obstructions.
I have never had surgery and all the research I've been doing shows a high correlation between adhesions and surgery.
Has anyone here experienced an adhesion without having surgery? If so what was your experience?
Open to all comments and advice!
Thanks for reading.

I have had both adhesions and strictures.
The adhesions were released when I had major abdominal surgery and removal of the right
colon.
Two years later strictures formed in the remaining colon and also in the esophagus.
The GI did a balloon endoscopy to widen the esophagus and then freed the colon ones with
Instruments through the colonoscopy.
This was last year and I have no problem swallowing.
There are issues with the colon which are to be further checked out this year.
So to answer your question it seems that the procedures I had negate the need for surgery.
It’s quite remarkable what can be achieved these days.
Your GI may need to further investigate your situation.
Hope this information is helpful to you.
Hugs
Trysha
