alternative therapies

hi i am all new to this, my son who is 23yrs was diagnosed with crohns at the beginning of the year, he has been on high doses of steroids, prednisilone, pentasa, entocort, iron tabs etc, the doctor then wanted him to go on azathioprine. i am a nurse and have limited medical knowledge but knew that azathioprine is not a good drug generally,, between us he agreed to go to a homeopath, he is now on small dose of prednisilone but he still had diarrhoea, painful joints etc, homeopath he feels is not helping much but meds have reduced and others stopped, are there any other forms of alternative therapies that have helped others i would be glad to know thanks

I had tried homeopathy for a couple of months. by the time I started homeopathy, I also started experiencing severe urine infection and the homeopath couldn't do much to reduce the pain. I had to go back to allopathy treatment and was diagonosed of entero-vesical fistula was given remicade treatment and later surgery was done. Earlier I had also tried Ayurveda for 6 months which was worse.
Personally I feel that whether alternative medicine will work or not depends on the condition of the disease in the patient.

Greetings and welcome :)

I'd suggest posting your request in our treatment section and maybe ask for specific diet related advice in our diet and fitness forum.

I wish you and your son all of the best.

*hugs*
