In a little less than three weeks I'm going in to have my temporary ileostomy taken down. It is to my understanding that after I'm all put back together on the inside they're just gonna suture up the opening through which the stoma came. Any idea if the inevitable scar will be substantial in size or just a little scratch-looking thing? I've been living with a bag of poop attached to me for two months, the least it can leave me with is a story starter.

I had a temporary ileostomy a few years ago. My scar is about 3 inches long along with the staple hole scars running up each side of it.

Were I to walk around with that area showing it'd be obvious to others that I'd had surgery. You'll get your story starter. :D

Yep, I agree with Cloudy. It will be big enough to see, though it will fade over time. Mine is 9 years old and not nearly as noticable as it used to be.

I am proud of my scars. I went thru a lot for them and I like to show them off!
