Different people have different reactions to Crohn's treatment. It is aloe vera, with anthraquinones removed, that seems to be universally effective. In 2005, imurin and other drugs in that family greatly accelerated the course of my Grandma's disease. Remicade is a prohibitively expensive drug in the United States. Though she has insurance, I shudder to even think about how one could try to absorb the costs of thousands of dollars monthly in Remicade treatment. For many years she drank, and despite what doctors say I believe this contributed to her problem. I also feel that genetics play a role in not only the onset of the disease, again a contrarian opinion, but in what affects it. Since this and other disease have increased exponentially since the 50's, especially in the U.S., I also feel a need to explore the effects of preservatives and chemicals in our food. If you can afford to, I recommend Trader Joe's or Whole Foods for higher quality production standards. Also, most stores are starting to cater to the natural food consumer in some ways, and the trend is growing. Do you remember the experiment of the soda cleaning the car battery? It only stands to reason that acid of that nature does not belong in your stomach, so no soda, chemicals or MSG! I myself suffer from duodonal ulcers, and have since I was 12, so these oods are akin to stomach roulette for even me. I will promite the aloe vera from time to time in the treatment section where I feel apropriate interest in alternative treatments have been shown, but only for those kind of reasons.
