Julien has asked me to inform you of Andrea's results.

The cancer has been confirmed as stage 2 (T2a NO MO)
Lymph nodes all look clear, but needs more surgery to 'clear up' they said.
Andrea is being kept in tonight and they're operating tomorrow.
They will remove the Ileo, take some away (2-4cm) then create a new one, this will hopefully mean no chemo.
Andrea is having chest x rays in prep for tomorrow.
Julien wishes to thank everyone for their support and love and thinks that this is good news in some way, but sad it means more surgery.

I don't know what to say really, I'm shocked and saddened by this outcome, hopefully Andrea will beat this and recover quickly.
My thoughts are always with you my friend, love you lots
Please take care

i think you summed up the feelings exactly, Joan. shocked & saddened is exactly how i feel right now too. but we have to be positive, and so does our Andrea - that's what is going to get her through this.

i've been thinking of Andrea all day, especially this morning during her appointment time.. i'll continue to think of her, and send my love & wishes for a successful op tomorrow, and a complete recovery afterwards.

Joan - thank you so much for the update, and when you're next in contact with the family, please pass on our love & support from all of us here. x

Thanks for the update. I feel the same way - sad at the news but glad they have a plan. I think it's good that the lymphs are clear. I hope the surgery is an easy one and she recovers easily - especially coming on the heels of the previous surgery not even two weeks ago.

Hang in there Andrea! We all love you and are rooting for you. To say this is tough is an understatment. Fingers crossed all goes well and you can avoid chemo.

Thanks Joan.

I'm so glad to hear it's not in the lymph nodes!

I hope they get it all and you recover and can put this all behind you. Sending lots of love and support from my corner.

Thanks Astra for keeping us all updated.

So sad to hear more surgery for poor Welshy! :ywow:

I'm very upset to hear this news, and I cant imagine what Andrea feels right now except terrified. I was glad to hear it's not in the lymph nodes, and hopefully no chemo for her.

Here is wishing for a full and speedy recover for that wonderful Welshy girl who is very cared about around here!

Welshy you tell that cancer to: :kissgrits: and open a case of whoop ass on it! You'll beat it.
Sending love and hugggss,
Misty

:( Another surgery.

I also am sad and shocked by this whole thing that Andrea is going through. Be well Andrea, we are all hoping for the very best for you along with a speedy recovery.

Andrea, I know this has been such a shock to you and you are worried, you have that right. I know you are a fighter, and we all know you are going to get through this fine. I am sending positive thoughts your way. All of us are there for you !!!! Lotsa hugs!
:ghug::ghug:

Sorry it means more surgery And, but it does sound hopeful that they can get it all w/o chemo. All the best!!

I hope her surgery goes well today. Thank goodness her nodes are clear which is massively reassuring. Hope you recover well Andrea, thinking of you.

Oh my word Andrea. You really are being tested! But we all know you can beat this. Stay strong. Thinking of you

Hoping for an update soon..... been thinking of you all morning and fingers crossed all went well.

I keep giving my parents daily updates about "my friend Andrea." I think they think it's a little weird for me to have so many "friends" I have never met, but when Levi read to them all the well wishes I received before and after my surgery, I think they started to understand how close we all are.

Anyway, we're on pins and needles over here, Welshy!

Message from Julien

Things weren't as straightforward as hoped, Andrea's BP dropped dangerously low on the operating table, thus surgery went on a little longer than planned.
She's in recovery and has a new Ileo.
We should know next week if it has now all been removed. but they are hopeful.
Andrea has been crying quite a bit since coming round, but they seem to think it's a reaction to the anaesthetic as well as her lack of sleep last night.
We know she's scared shitless that chemo could be next, so that's probably playing on her mind too.
For now they're happy with Chunks progress and again no reports of pain or any post surgery complications.
Thanks again for all your support xx

Everyone cross everything now that this defo has all been removed and wish Andrea a speedy recovery.
Andrea, you are in all our thoughts right now, know that we care and are praying for you, and that this won't beat you.
Take care, love you lots

Thank you and Jules for the update on Andrea. I coudn't stop thinking of her today. She's been through so much, all I can wish for is that they got everything and she can just look forward to healing and getting better.

Wishing you the very best Andrea dear heart.

Misty

Hang in Andrea... no chemo for you :) Cry as much as you need to... we all would be doing the same.
I also thought about you all day too..

Heres hoping you have a speedy recovery and no more surgeries :)
We all know you're a fighter :D

All be best to you And!! It seems nothing ever goes as planned but things are sounding hopeful:).

Thank you Joan and Julien for keeping us updated. I have been thinking of our Andrea all day...

Andrea - I don't blame you one bit for crying!!! Ask them to give you some valium. It did wonders for me when I had a couple breakdowns in the hosp after my surgery. It will be a long week til you get the final results and you should ask for something to help you thru it all.

Now that you have a new ileo, do you need to rename!???! Or is it still Ozzie???

xo xo xo - loads of love coming your way across the pond - Ames

Hi all- just stopping by to say a big 'thank You' for the good wishes and thoughts.
I'm back at home now (since Thursday eve), wounds are healing nicely, and the sun is shining, so can't possibly ask for more!!
Hope you're all doing ok, or as well as can be!! xx

Hey Andrea, Joan has told me the hell you are going through!! No one can blame you for crying, you are alot stronger than I am and I am pretty much a tough cookie. Thinking of you always, keep in touch ok?
Love and hugs

Happy Easter- hope it's been a good one!

Thanks again for the continued well wishes- but now, I'm back!!
Feeling loads better, surgical incisions healing really well, and life with Ozzie is getting easier daily. We're still learning new thing's, his likes and dislikes certainly outweigh mine but we're getting there. I'm sure it's all been helped along by the great supply of sunshine recently!
Right time to catch up with what's been happening here...see you around!

Thanks Andrea,
We had a great time at disney. I have been feeling a lot better with less pain/sickness on the aza and tapering pred dose so felt quite well which was great.

There were squillions of restrooms which are nice and clean. We took a packup lunch wherever we went so I could manage my diet and it saved us a FORTUNE! Everyone else was queuing for burgers etc and eating in packed cafe's etc and we found a little shady quiet spot for our picnic. My girls managed to find the most outrageous cakes for themselves at the supermarket - called publix...we renamed pubix..so juvenile! :)

:kiss::kiss:

Welcome back Welsh !! :)

So happy to hear you are doing better !

P.s. should I put a disclaimer in my signature that states I am NOT your "ozzie's" momma?? :ylol2::ylol2: Glad to see we have a similar sense of humor

T- thanks so much hun. Hope Gabs is on the mend. Feel free to call 'Ozzie' yours- he's still not feeling much like mine right now and I would willingly give him a new mummy!! Far too overactive for me! x

Misty- beans with mine please! x

I hope you had a good Easter, Andrea. I am happy to see you on the forum.:Flower:
