Another pointless trip to the ER

So I finally had a night out last night. All 3 kiddos were sleeping over my exes. I had a really nice dinner with my friend and then we went to hear our friends band sing. At about 9:30 the pain started in my upper right quadrant. Then the vomiting. After about an hour of watching me writhe in pain she finally took me to the ER. They took me back pretty quick. They gave me an ultrasound which showed nothing and the blood work showed inflammation. And after 4 hours of excruciating pain they sent me home. That was it. The best part is that they waited 2 hours to even give me anything for pain. It was awful. The worst part is them telling me that nothing is wrong. I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure that something is wrong! The pain is unbearable. No severe pain today but I'm exhausted and my abdomen is very sore. And now I'm here with the kids by myself praying it doesn't happen again. I hate to feel sorry for myself but I can't live like this anymore. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for Friday which I hope shows something. I just want to feel better.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Please feel free to vent, it's the best place to do it. It's a pity we couldn't fit are crohns into a nice wee schedule so that occasionally we could have done fun :( I'm so sorry that you had this experience without any decent outcomes, thank goodness you have a date for the scope, I will keep my fingers crossed that you get some answers and until then best wishes and good luck. :ghug:

It was not an entirely useless trip if they did something for the pain. But I am no fan of most ER's.

I'm so sorry :(

I understand your frustration and experience at the ER. Sometimes they can be of little help but I am glad that your pain subsided a bit afterwards.

I hope your colonoscopy tomorrow gives you the answers that you seek.
