I got sick suddenly about 15 months ago. It has been hell, and the physical part is not even half of it. On October 1st of last year, my wife of 6 years accompanied me to my 1st appointment with my 2nd GI doc. Near the end of the exam, as she sat right there, I asked the doc, "so what COULD IT BE???". He replied, "we'll have to wait for the results of the capsule endoscopy next week, but off the top of my head, I'd say Crohn's disease or a tumor". "So it could be cancer?", I replied. "Yes", he said. 3 days later I got a call from my wife from the airport, as she was boarding a plane for what I thought was a routine business trip, saying that she was leaving me and filing for divorce. She claims my health, which had put a major damper on our fun, was not an issue, but she is several years my junior, and the phrase "life is passing me by" (I have NO IDEA what THAT'S like) was one of the last things out of her mouth. To make matters worse, we only recently moved here. I really don't know anyone in the area and am pretty much alone. How bad is it? Well, to give you some idea, the only phone messages I get are from doctors and lawyers. I did some searching and found a few groups in the area, wrote them brief notes, so far only one has responded. So I'm wondering if anyone here knows of any resources in the Seattle area I might approach. The situation is beginning to get me down in a very major way.

TIA

David

Well ... I don't know of any resources myself, but I'm in Washington. I'm still fairly new to the disease as well. Sorry to hear you've had such a rough time of it! PM me anytime if you want.

I don't know of any groups, as I am not from that area, but I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry to hear about your marriage. You've got unconditional support here for sure.
