This is an article that was out yesterday entitled "'Hygiene hypothesis' may be tied to bowel disease". A snippet of the article:

Children who grow up in a spic-and-span home may have a higher risk of developing inflammatory bowel disease, a study suggests.

See the article here.

clean homes!

Thanks for the info Mike. As if I don't have enough Jewish guilt to begin with! Now in addition to all the other mistakes parents make and beat themselves up for, I can now feel awful about how my being a hypervigilant housekeeper has contributed to my son's disease!
Laughs aside, thanks for the info
Ramona

That is interesting.. First off, the part about day care... tho not associated with IBD it makes fascinating reading.. I know someone in that field, I'll have to pass it on. The other part is.. my Dad did most of the housework, due to Mom's health. He literally kept the place spotless.. but I'm the only one who came down with it.

Yay! Dirty houses for all!! I'll be sure to let my husband know about this one!
I won't even have my kids wash with antibacterial soap because of this, and haven't for quite some time.

(My house was a disaster growing up though, so this article doesn't count for me apparently.)
