so today , day 11 of the elemental 028 diet, and fully hydrated i toddle off to the docters to get weighed and have my bloods done and
the whole way there and during my ileum is totally bloody killing me like really really tight sharp squeezing pain , i figure maybe i havent had enough to drink or something, maybe its my bladder, god knows..

anyway, the nurse gets the needle in , no pain, no fuss , needle out , cotton wool, then we do the random questions, the whole time im keeping the pressure on my arm where the needle puncture is. I get weighed, and take the cotton wool off she puts a plaster on the hole, i walk over to the bin put the cotton wool in it and look down to see blood pouring down my arm , seriously WTF???!! THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE , in all the ten years of having bloods done! :ywow:

i had to have a wadding and a bandage wrapped around it and stay at the surgery for another half hour to make sure it was ok and i wasnt going to bleed out.

the weirdest bit is that as soon as that happened the pain in my ileum stopped and actually noticably the 'pressure' cos thats what it felt like , disappeared all together.

Nobody of course has an answer for this and yet again im ment to just accept that that is just another weird little blip in my day caused by crohn's.

now i cant do anything with my right arm cos i cant bent the bloody thing cos of the bandage, which they want me to keep on until tomorrow... so no curtains in my house cos i washed um all yesterday and they need ironing before i hang um back up!!

Hey Misty, im just on budesonide at the mo and leverthyroxin for my thyroid.

Im intolerant to most drugs and hyposensitive to pred.

How come hun?

Dunno! My blood is funny. Thick cells or something. Genetic I'm told. In my case it's cause of my liver apparently. As I sit drinking a glass of wine!

But it can be a sign of vitamin and mineral deficiencies I'm told, but which ones I dont know!

Lol fair enough..

i keep getting told by my dr and consultant that all my bloodwork is relatively normal , within safe healthy limits for most things, sometimes i get a tiny bit aneamic and sometimes my crp is slightly raised but even when im in remission sometime my crp can be raised.

its dropped off loads since quitting smoking, 1month now! Im sometimes deficient in patience... maybe thats why im struggling so much lol

They also tell me im a difficult case, wether they personality or crohn's case im not quite sure!!

oooo you're a wine guzzla ay? Hehe we all gotta have our vices... mine in shoes lol i lose myself on ebay for hours oggling pretty ballet pumps or 5"stellies..

Ohhh Bernadette...you stopped smoking!!! Kuddos! Well done, I'm gonna stop...someday. I tried Champix to stop...worked great, and put me right into a major flare!! Gd d*mnit!!!

Well, if everything was normal, you wouldnt bloody be bleeding out now would ya??? They need to check some more bloods. Just in case you have any left!? As for the curtains...you should really give everyone a nice show.

misty misty misty!! lol oh i can see a giigle-a-thon in the making with you!

i would give them a good show but the flat that overlooks mine has two gay guys in it, ones a doc the other a porter for xray dept at my hospital... cornwalls a small place, i couldnt get away with it!!!

i had a chat with one of the gastro consults earlier she took down a list of everything thats been playing on my mind and said she'd get my consultant to ring me tomorrow to see if he wants me in for CT or xrays, i know i have a fiberous stricture so the only real option is actually surgery..... its just i dont wanna have more!

there arent any more treatments that they havent tried yet, well mycophenelate (if thats how you spell it!!) but again its an immunesupressant and my body goes into full spack out mode when i have them!!

lol to top it off i had an interview with ATOS on tuesday, i think i actually came across as mental, she looked at me while is was explaining the complexities of my particular crohn's symptoms like i was talking about dry cleaning spaghetti!!

Remicade is mouse protein. Have they thought about Humira...Human proteins on you....with ALOT of benadryl first?

hi Dette,

yes, i have the pain in the terminal ilieum, feels like trying to walk about with hideous appendicitis! i have liquid feed through a gastrostomy that is frankly painful as its got crohns in and gastric acids get into it too. had naso-gastric tube before then.

one nurse accidently pulled out the vacuum tube from the needle bit in the arm and hell, what a fountain of blood that was. i faint, weak insipid me, but i always faited at blood ever since i was a child. i had to sit about until they knew i was okay to travel home.

humira didn't work for me. it made my throat swell up and i've done nothing but cough, and cough and cough ever since. they keep giving me the antibiotics regularly but nothing has shifted it. so good luck to you if you try it.

i'm just filling out my atos form, bugga's, god knows what they'll make of me. they'll be lucky if they get me there with this health. what are they like?
