Ok how many times a day do you need to burp your bag? Mine needed burping 3 times on a 4 hour drive. At one stage I had to hide behind bushes on the highway, as when I went to burp it I nearly covered the dash in poop.

My hubby was laughing about it but I think a little screw in plug in the top of the bag would make a sneaky burp much easier. Does anyone have any interesting burping techniques or bag modification ideas?

Paul thought we should try and light the gas as it burped out, or use the gas as an alternative fuel!

Ps vent icon used in jest. Re venting the pouches.

You can buy vents that attached to any bag, though I've never tried them.

I use the bags with filters, which only work until the filters get wet, so about 1 day.

I don't normally have to burp my Bob bag but maybe once a day, if even that. In the first few months, there was much more gas, but that has settled down a lot.

I vary a lot depending on what I have been eating/drinking and on the time of day. My most dangerous time is during the night when I wake up, burp the bag then have to make sure that I close it before I fall asleep again. One time I half woke up, burped the bag...and woke up later to find the bag still open and mess everywhere. :yfaint:

I only burp my bag when I can create the most damage. In an enclosed car with the windows up. Or late at night...while his head is trapped under the covers. :voodoo:

But really, the filters are great to have. Although they dont last long enough.

I do the same thing!!! My husband can be gassy on command, and always tries to get me, but when it come time for me, RELEASE THE KRACKEN!! It's payback time :) He always says I smell like eggs and garlic. I can't disagree with that. I also to blame it on him at gatherings, because people wouldn't expect that from me. I'm just a little evil hehehe!!

I must be a gassy gal because I burp at least 7-8 times a day. And I have an ileostomy, not sure how common that amount of burping is. But I do eat a lot of fiber....

I don't tend to burp in the day, but sometimes I wake up with a balloon on my stomach during the night. and i'f im too sleepy to get up and go to the toilet I burp it. It's a risky game though! and by god it stinks!!

Maybe I'm just gassy, or miss piggy is full of hot air! By night time those filters seem unable to cope with the gas. I get up twice on a good night with the Hindenburg under my PJ's, thank goodness it is methane and not helium otherwise I would be on the roof!

I still go to the toilet to burp, just in case I have a little follow through.

I usually only have to burp overnight, or in general, if I have carbonated drinks.
Amazingly - I wake up intuitively when this happens - with a Zeppelin on my tummy.
I just sit up - squeak it out, re-clip, roll back over and back to sleep in a wink.
Had one oopsy bad re-clip - the smell woke me up just in time - before the mess hit the sheets.
Phew!

I guess I was lucky and dont think I burped my bag once in the 3 mo that I had the little devil. Now, after the reconnect it a different story. LOL

I never burp my bag. I don't like the bags with vents on them and so I use a regular bag without any charcoal because I was only getting a day out of them and that was just too ridiculous, then I would have poop stains on my shirts and such so I got rid of those fast. Then I found out I was allergic to most tapes so I use my own tape and have to put it right over the top tab so I never burp the bag. Whenever it starts to get full of air I just find a restroom and empty whatever is in the bag.

Yes, I have the same problem,I have to burp mine several times a day.I have tried bags with the vent and have not found one that works.Just wanted you to know your not alone.

woops had a little bag burp explosion in bed last night. thank goodness my PJs copped it and not my husband or the sheets! Bet there will be plenty more where he is not as lucky.

Lol, I think that is part of the reason I stopped burping the bag as I had a close call once and it scared me enough to stop.
