well done for posting your a good looking chap... whats the difference in time between them and are you in remission now??

I looked very similar to that after my surgery as well...except I have a bag attached to my stomach. But I had the same emaciated look, with the lovely scar down the belly. But, since then I've gotten healthier, and fatter...lol

The 'healthy" pic is me at the beginning of 2010. The other pic is September 2010 about a month after surgery. I guess i'm in remission in as much as I am not in pain anymore since the surgery but I do still have several other symptoms.

This is me a couple of months ago. Still a bit haggard but definitely on the mend.

unfortunately my belly button no longer resembles a belly button which actually freaked me out more than the surgery when the nurse told me they'd removed it, I know I shouldn't complain compared to some people - she got it wrong anyway there is one there somewhere!! I didn't lose a hugh amount of weight though, my tummy always looks swollen... not pretty

I got to my perfect weight after my surgery. I just need to work on keeping it off now! Everyone keeps saying how good I look and how I look like I've had nothing done.

Glad you are getting better though!!

After my surgery my GI discharged me and said if I had a change in bowel movements to get re referred!! well they change on a daily basis ha ha so still learning whats normal or not... When I had my surgery I was on pred and pentasa for 8 months I only got diagnosed then, it was a bit of a whirlwind, anyway like you I ended up with a perforation therefore surgery. After the surgery they took me off everything except 1 GI said if I was his patient he would put me on imuran. Anyways so far I haven't needed anything and my last scope showed mild inflammation but no active crohns so still no meds. I just do what i'm told really and will def take them if anything returns (I know it's a bit like closing the stable door and all that).

Glad you are feeling better. I hope this next year is less eventful for you! I agree with Terriernut, you are a good looking guy!

Yes! I went out there for a holiday in September before my op, but my bf's family live out there (Brit ex-pats) so we are going to stay with them.

It shall probably be the last week in Jan but sure! Where abouts do you live?

No warning required, in fact I'm just in from my local spa and boy I could've done with a warning for that :ysmile:

Glad you are on the mend, you look well.

Hey Cy - Looking good! You look so much healthier, and younger, in your most recent picture!

Hope you are feeling better each and every day!!

Not trying to one up you, but my scars are waaay worse. My belly looks sort of like a ladder. I am so glad you are doing better :)

Thanks Amy. Must be the gallons of Clnique moisturizer I pile on every day. Actually, I was also trying out these new daily colored contact lenses.....I lasted one week!!!

Ekay03, my scars have mostly faded in just over a year. You wouldn't be able to tell I even had surgery.

Keep well both of you.

I suppose you have the distinct advantage of HAIR to cover those scars too! Although I reckon if they keep us girls on pred long enough, we may catch up!
